TB Musings
I used to have a 97 Neon SOHC (OK, stop giggling) and I did a few things to the engine to make it faster, one of which involved sending the stock throttle body out to a machine shop, where it was bored oversize inside, and a new butterfly plate fabricated. It only cost about a hundred bucks, and it seemed to make a difference. I can't help but wonder if it would be worth the effort on on our lil Yarii, when used in conjunction with an intake setup. I had a homemade short-ram on the Neon, about a foot long, and it really made a difference IMO, despite never actually documenting anything to be certain. Any thoughts?

AFAIK there's a few people around here experimenting with the idea, time will only tell if it's really worth it

You wasted money on the Neon, you shouldve just swapped a Auto TB onto it, its 5mm larger ;)
The DBW Toyo's seem very touchy with mods, I'm sure that bored TB will mess up the AF mix.... |

Yep, learned the auto TB trick about 2 weeks after I had mine done (self-slap). Oh well, I've come to a complete recovery from the domestic fever and entered the realm of Toyota

No more neon? The SOHC neons could use the DOHC ECU and it made more power.

A tree fell and smashed my beloved Neon during a freak windstorm last year. The roof was touching the back seat...the only cool thing is that with that massive trunk on top, it looked like it was dropped on bags, LOL

LOL, nice!!! Everyone hates the Neon's, I was one of them, until I owned one. My lil Neon rev'd out to 7500 and pulled hard from 4500 till redline. I smoked a LOT of your basic civics and crap around town, then a 350z and a newer M on the highway. The civics I ran with no bottle, the faster cars I used the 75shot :)
