Buying a 2010 with some issues.

Will be buying a 2010 Yaris Saturday, does have 2 issues that I am aware of. Guy claims that it needs drum brakes, however it has a loud rumble exactly like bad wheel bearings. However, when you press on the brake it almost goes to the floor before the brakes engage. I know its hard to pinpoint online just want some opinions. Car has 173k on it, would the drums be bad at this point? Like I said the guy claims that it needs drums, would drums cause a loud wheel bearing type noise while being driven? Car ran great other than that, clean no leaks no rust. Buying it for 3500, he wouldnt budge on the price. Its a black two door.

If the car runs well and that’s the only problem it’s a material what it is. It’s either one or the other. By the car and fix the problem that’s my advice.

Sometimes just adjusting up the rear brakes improves the pedal travel. Might have a lot of dust in there causing the noise.

Thank you guys, got quoted 520 to replace the rear drums. Gonna be dropping it off Saturday so they can look it over on Monday, just dont trust myself to do the rear drums.

It was the rear passenger side wheel bearing. Actually found a new one on Facebook for 25 bucks. So I fixed it for 25 bucks, hardest part was the ABS clip, had me puzzled to take it off. Finally got it off tho.
