1zz to 1nz Throttle spacer
After all this time I was able to get someone to build the 1zz to 1nz spacer. Here are some pictures:
If you are interested I can connect you with the person by private message. Cost: $80 |

It's an adaptor to accomodate the physical differences between the two throttle bodies.

What are you using for a gasket on the throttle body side? The OEM can be used on the intake manifold side, curious what you're planning on for this one.
I made a custom adapter like this for my supercharger build, machined in the same features as the OEM intake manifold so I could use the OEM gasket/mesh thing. |

Since you have access to a CNC mill, you can probably just make an o-ring groove for a standard size. Gasket paper will also likely work, not sure what kind you'll need. I used the brown paper-ish stuff in 1/32" thickness when I duplicated the Blitz gaskets using a 2D laser cutter.

Spacer diameter size of both side
Here are the measures that I use to make the space.
Opening: Yaris size = 46mm 1zz size = 56mm |

Thanks for the drawing/dimensions. I had one made for $80 US and it has a groove for 58mm ID/60mm OD O ring. One thing that I might have read incorrectly on your diagram is how thick the plate should be, mine's 18mm, looks like I'm going to need longer bolts and studs to make it fit. Anyone near San Diego who wants one PM me and I'll give you the guy's number who made it for me. That's actually a 1ZZ TB, I turned the piping for the coolant.

what do you mean "turned the piping"? Do they swivel? are they threaded so you can screw/unscrew them? did you bend them?

Can you ask your guy if he can make a spacer for 1NZ to a 2AZFE. I saw this video of a guy who installed a TB from a 2.4l. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKjVH_hz6ZA
I can buy it immediately if he can do it. Thanks |

My apologies, I haven't been here for a bit. Yes the piping does swivel, they're hard to turn by hand, but I used an adjustable crescent wrench to turn them. I've checked it and so far no leak.

BTW, the idle adjustment Allen screw stripped on me, I remedied it by pounding a T10 torx driver, I lined up the corners with the pointy part and it fits perfectly, I put blue locktite so it doesn't move on it's own. I've adjusted the idle speed by letting the car warm up until the temp indicator is gone, turn off the car and pull out the key completely, back out the screw until it almost stalls and then screw it back in an eight of a turn until the engine is not sputtering. I don't have a tach reader to plug in the ODBII to check what the actually rpm is, but it works just fine. It still does rev high at cold start for about 15-20 seconds. The flange where the axle back coupling of my muffler broke, so I have a bit of exhaust leak, but it made the car torquey and sound a bit louder. Hehehe... Combine that with the TB upgrade, the 1NZ responses a lot better. |

Here I’m showing how I installed the 18mm thick TB spacer. Like I said the mounting holes in the diagram were too big, so I wrapped the bolts with electrical tape to make them snug so that the spacer won’t be off centered. I only did that for 3 of the 4 bolts, the bottom right one holds the bracket for the TB cable would have been hard to do. The mounting holes for the TB tapers, the back side are 8mm in diameter, while the front are 6mm. I guess the diagram followed the back side of the TB that’s why they’re so big.

What are you using for a gasket between the spacer and the TB? The OEM gasket should still work fine on the manifold side.

Oh, check the pic in post 10... the spacer has a channel for an o-ring of 58mm ID and 60OD. I should have taken a pic with the o-ring on.
