Did I read somewhere
I remember reading, Somewhere in this Forum, that a Scion TC Throttle Body would fit our 1NZ-FE Engines...
Does anyone know if it's true?

most toyota throttle body's have the same bolt pattern and use the same connector. the problem is that the ecm will not accept some. i'll be putting a 1zz tb on a yaris soon and port the intake manifold. i wouldn't do that big of throttle body unless you were FI |

anyone else doing these intake mods and having no luck? anytime the man. pressure, pipe dia., maf sensor location changes it throws codes or stalls out.

the bolt pattern is the same, the connection and all is the same, the vacuum fittings are slightly different but i believe all you should need is one or two caps. As far as working, it seemed to work on my vehicle, i have yet to be able to say for sure as i have done nothing more then idle with it and verify that pressing the throttle opens the butterfly. It may be difficult though to properly port a stock plastic manifold however. as i mentioned before i would give it probably another week before i can say for sure how it all works.

keep the maf diameter the same as stock or as close as possible and the maf frequency shouldn't throw a code. for the throttle body, theres a bunch of codes that could be thrown being that theres dual resistors...one for high side, one for low side. most throttle body's will get a signal from the throttle pedal position switch but due to slight differences it will throw a code after about 37% throttle

can you add a resistor to the MAF sensor to compensate for dia difference? maybe a dumb question but if your going through all the trouble to port heads, build manifolds and add larger dia throttle bodies doesnt it make sense to up the available volume of air being able to pass through the intake? whats the stock dia intake rated in CFM?
1/3 throttle is when my car stumbled and wouldnt pick back up and stalled out.

the toyota's eprom will compensate the difference so theres going to have to be a different way with the resistor. no idea what the rating is... |

very easy to get...its just the pricing. most 2az throttle body's are expensive because of all 02-04 dbw throttle closed or open issues. but you could find a 1zz throttle body for about 25-50 bucks
