PNW Meet - Ideas?
Ok, the 4th Annual Mt. Saint Helen's cruise/potluck was a blast and we had a record turnout for Yarii (9 in total) show up. I think now we have enough willing members to do our own meet and not have to rely on the scion crowd.
So I'm trying to think of something that isn't too far of a drive for everyone, can be fun and provide some awesome scenery, and the food thing seems fun as well. I was thinking Mt. Rainer maybe in August or September, as it's a pretty reasonable drive for most. Mt. St. Helen's was a 4.5 hour drive for me, and is probably the extent of time I'd drive for a local event. There also might be some fun festivals or things like that, I know Washington is full of that stuff. So lets post some ideas, I'm thinking something in Washington state as it would be close enough for most of us. |

Mary Hill Stonehenge & State Park? It's pretty close for me (2-ish hours) but I don't mind a longer drive so just about anything is good. If it's more than a 5 hour drive, I'd probably look for a campground and turn it into a 2 day trip.

I'm down for something reasonable. I may have to pass depending on the work schedule. We'll see what you come up with.

Stonehenge looks like a nice choice. What about something in the Central Oregon range? Some nice scenery there as well.

I'd have to turn it into a trip to see my buddy in Seattle... else Ranier would be a bit far for me. I'm 2 hrs south of Portland... so anything much further than St. Helens means a long day for me.... especially if the meet time is before noon.
I'll have to bow out of this one I think. |

If we could coordinate something in the Seattle area would more be able to attend? Seattle is just over a couple of hours away for me. Dunno what we could do though...

I'd be up for Seattle but I think your original idea of Mt. Rainier would work better. Those of us that can, or want to, will be able to caravan up. It would be a good place to stop and have lunch. Nice camp grounds if anybody wanted to make it a 2 day trip. It's close enough to the border that we might be able to get some of the Canadian Yarii owners to show up.

Lol I know you would
Just trying to figure out what works best for most. Sadly I know whatever we decide won't work 100% for everyone. Now for the 2nd part, date? |

Sounds fun to me! Anyone willing to take a gander to Mt. Rainer and scope it out? I know there's some good camping, cruise areas, and places to visit up there. I've only been up there once about 5 years ago but it was awesome.
