suspension arm rusted

Good day,

Can someone identify this part (see picture attached ) and tell me if it's fixable?

It is a Yaris 2008 with 292000 KL. Nothing else is rusted. Mechanic A1

Thank you for your help

Hi Les here. This appears to be a corrosion issue of the floor pan. My advice would be to take it in to a reputable auto body shop and have them look at it. Or to a Toyota dealership and have them look at it. The last thing you want is the arm to detach whilst driving.

That is not a removable part, it is part of the unibody.

Unfortunately it also strengthens the attachment point of the rear axle beam. That would be a tough area to weld in new metal as it has a lot of tight curves.

I'm sure there is a shop that could do it, I'm just not sure it would make sense financially.

IMO the dealership is not the right place to have this looked at and fixed
No one ever wants to give a Yaris the point by...
