Left lower suspension arm rear bolt broken.
Any ideas for getting my left front control arm off so that I can access the broken bolt that needs to be removed and replaced.
The head snapped off (while driving), but the remaining shaft of the bolt is holding the arm and preventing me from removing the part. I've been advised to drill it out. Any other ideas before I start drilling? |

This was a common problem on the older Vitz/Echo (frame code NCP1x series) as well. The problem is that the bolt will corrode and fuse itself with the bushing carrier (specifically: its inner race) that it passes through before treading into the subframe. From my experience, here are your options....
Both methods will take a tremendous amount of patience and expertise... Good luck! |
