Any interest in the Scion IQ?
I know the Toyota already has the IQ out in Japan and the UK, but do any of you guys have an interest in it for the US? I think it sounds awesome IF they would use 1.0L 68hp engine and have us get 65mpg... what do you guys think?

I'm also considering about the IQ, but for the price i will pull back, i'll pay that price for Yaris but IQ is a bit over price.

If they do as initially rumored and give us the Yaris 1.5 in it, I'd be all over it. Fuel economy would be at least 5 mpg better than the Yaris (it's at least 400 pounds lighter), and it would be quicker when you needed it to be. (hey, I autocross!)
I don't think I'd object to the 1.3. For purely a commuter car, the 1.0 would be fine, but I don't think they'll do that in the US because such a car wouldn't sell here. Remember, most Americans already think the Yaris is underpowered, even though it accelerates quicker than most cars of the 70's and 80's! If you really want fuel economy, press Toyota to give us the 1.4D. In the Yaris, it can get over 60 mpg easily. In the IQ, it would be 70+. 1.4D in an IQ? I'd buy one today! |

1.3 would be nice since most of it is the same as the 1.5 except the bore/stroke (1.3 is the 2nzfe, right?). so many mods could/would fit from the yaris

If they are still making the 1.3L like they used to on the old yaris.. the exhaust manifold is in front of the engine!!! |

i am interested, what is this about it costing more than the Yaris? that is moronic, unless it is just the hybrid.

If they sell it as a Scion, it will be more expensive than the Yaris simply because it's Toyota's hip upscale small car brand.

okay, so the hybrid version will be $15k. That actually is a great deal for a hybrid. The gas only versions have to be much cheaper.

I would test drive the IQ.... but it would have to be extremely cool for me to want to trade in the yaris for one. I mean, I can do so much, carry so much with the yaris when I put the rear seats down..... I'd lose that functionality. The only way I see myself actually buying the IQ is if the GF sells her subaru and picks up a matrix.... THEN I could justify getting a tiny car.
