Welcome to the forum John. I am always jealous of the diesel Yaris owners, as we don't get them over here.

For installing a DVD player, you will need to either purchase one of the aftermarket head units that is designed for the Yaris and fits in the same space as your integrated original head unit or purchase the trim to install a standard head unit. The integrated ones are readily available off ebay, but are not typically the highest quality devices.

For using a standard one, look at the link below for information on the parts you would need:

By the way, nice two wheel tractor!

Very cool. If I remember correctly the Lombardini two wheel tractors use a small one cylinder diesel engine?

I have a 1960's Gravely two wheel tractor with a bunch of attachments (rototiller, rotary plow, snow blower, and sickle bar mower).

Howdy John! I'm jealous because you live in Split! I've spent some time along the Dalmatian Coast back when I was in Bosnia in 1998. It's a beautiful region and it must be very nice to live there!

Welcome to YarisWorld!

Cheers! M2

I wish we had diesel ones too here in Australia! Can't believe they actually make them for other countries... not fair I tell you :(

It is tough to say. The thing to do is to find some reviews or feedback on it to see if there are any significant complaints about it.

I'd be wary about those cheap moniceivers.
I've come across lots of similar devices and it turns out that devices from "big" brands like Kenwood/Sony/JVC are far more likely to have a well designed user interface.
If you have a cheap MP3 player it might be tolerable, but having a car stereo that e.g. has a severe lag might get you angry while driving or even lead to a crash:
"huh, why doesn't it... *look down* *push button*" "oh sh..."*BOOM*
My cheap (although it cost me almost 200$) Android tablet e.g. reboots at random and sometimes several times per hour - I don't want a tablet nor a car stereo to do such things.
Using Android apps is possible e.g. with MirrorLink, at least the Galaxy S3 suports it:
The screen content is displayed on the HU and touchscreen commands are sent to the phone.
Thus, you can use e.g. a navigation app without managing two setups.
This also applies to music etc. ;)
Sadly, I have no money ATM for such a thing, so I have no experience about this to pass along :(

The only other thing you would need for an aftermarket radio is the Toyota specific wiring harness so you don't have to cut the OEM connectors off to use the new radio. The Metra 70-1761 is one of the common ones:

I have one of these HU made by Xtrons. Sound quality is crap, graphic interface is ugly and well, the rest just works as it should, but not the best really..

It's been sitting on my work bench for a long time. Wife hates how it operates.
