I would love to have one of the new Pioneer AVIC-Z1's... but that is so out of my price range... but come on... HDD Nav with POI, the ability to rip CD's to HD in the car, touchscreen or voice control and voice guidance. Not to mention optional Sat Radio, Bluetooth, iPod, Vehicle Dynamics (gauges for all kinds of car parameters) and it's even Double Din which looks so nice and stock in cars that have a double din opening.

If you aren't in the States, it probably wouldn't work for you... different Radio Frequencies for AM and FM... try some of Pioneer's Asian market Carrozzeria products instead.

Probably anything listed here:
http://pioneer.jp/carrozzeria/rakunavi/index.html
would be a suitable alternative to the AVIC-D2 for the asian market.
Just that most of the Japanese market units are quite a bit more advanced
than the US Market units.
I saw a Japanese Panasonic Head unit I wanted, Was a Double-DIN and had analogue VU meters and a visible Vacuum Tube! Ah... yeah, the Panasonic CQ-TX5500D

And a picture:
