anybody got pix of a 215 on a 7.5" wide rim...or 7"
i'm thinkin about goin with a 215/45/16 and was worried about the goofy 'bubble look' of the tire on the wheel. i prefer the sidewall to be as straight as possible...and tirerack suggest a 7.5" wheel for a 215. which to me would be more inward angle than anything and a possible bead-breaking situation in high speed cornering or 'getin outta the way' situations.
i was planning on a 40 +- 2mm offset with a factory height, 215/45/16" tire/rim and 7 or 7.5" wide depending on how the tire looks on the rim. |

I love momentum.

Why not just get a narrower tire? Do you really need a 215?

Recommended wheel width for a 215mm tyre is 6-8".
Are you lowered or planning to lower? |

not planning but if it's gonna get changed (50k miles) i'm goin with higher quality any way.
i want wider tires cuz i'm being pushed all over the road with wind...and wider tires will help stop this. i know the car is a lightweight, but wider tires will help. also, there are no decent tires in the 205/50/16 size, and there are not many but higher quality tires in a 215/45/16. plus the 215 is close to the stock ratio than a 205 and i'm already having trouble with the throttle. |

If you're going with 16's on stock suspension, I suggest 205/50/16 on 16x7, ET42-45 (no lower offset). BTW, there are several great tyres available in this size. I don't recommend tyres wider than 205 on the Yaris.
I'm currently running a set of 205/50/16 Nitto NeoGens, and they are outstanding tyres. |

u gettin pushed around by the wind? following a tractor-trailer or a bigger truck? crosswinds? i'm almost pushing 1/8 turn into the wind when it's blowing hard....and on the open plains of tx there's plenty of wind...
so, 7" wide needs 45mm offset... i want the wheel/tire to be even with the front fender, i dont like the tucked in look like an old-school f150 |

Yes, this little car certainly gets blown around on the open highway. I did notice some improvement with wider wheels and tyres plus better handling with the (TRD) rear anti-sway bar.
BTW, 16x7, ET42 will be just about flush up front with 205's. |
