i'd like to see 200whp out of the 1.5 i know it probaly wont happen for a long time tho. i agree with the 150 160 hp statement. i think with that much it wouldnt seem so gutless.

Giving my .02 cents.....I think this whole thread is pointless actually, not being a jerk either, but this is a very wide topic. Like tell me how to build a car with X amount of dollars.

ok, you get 150, and that's really fun....for about two weeks. then you go for 200, and that seems really fast....until some kid in his dad's exotic stomps you. "gotta have more", you think.... etc. etc. ad horsepowerum.

that's my story, anyway. and it's SO FUN!

Wow... way to revive a dead thread!

But anyway... carlosh: no way is 10 psi on a car that has 1500cc of displacement and redlines @ 6,500RPM gonna get you up to 215hp... maybe 160 or so. Or maybe if you have some crazy freon cooling radiator system to lower the intake charge temperature to -100!

So, if the XB Supercharger kit can be made to work relatively easily (some new tabs on the intake manifold, a new gasket and idler pulley...) why not the Greddy XB turbo kit?

Make sure you upgrade your transmission. Stock Yaris transission is only rated to hold 150 HP.

i don't think people are giving him shit just pointing out that to get that amount of whp is gonna take a lot of money.

i for one answered his question and i'm putting a turbo kit for my car as we speak.

The amount of psi you can run more depends on what turbo, not the motor! PSI is JUST a measure of resistance of air getting thru the TB.

You can make 200 crank HP, prolly not to the wheels though. 180ish to the wheels is feasable and realistic. Get a decent sized turbo, you actually want a lil lag. Newer cars dont like boost under 3K RPM, the ECU's are VERY smart and wont change from closed to open loop until you hit certain conditions. If you go with a standalone like PFC or Hyrda it wont matter then.

I would go with a GT28R or GT28RS. 12-15psi should be more then enough to make the power you're looking for, 10 is prolly enough.

How about a GT2554R?
There is no way you could run 12-15 pounds on that 1.5L for long without rods and rings.
