the need for the welding was because of the difference in body styles between the liftback and sedan I am sure. So for the remaining customers I would bet it is a bolt on process, seeing as they have now fitted it to a sedan and a liftback. so you're all good

well for one the front oxygen sensor has been removed as kenny has said (i believe in the other post) another could possibly be for the larger injectors.

Ok, so is this an Auto transmission yaris? The Launch from the vid was pretty mild. 0-60 time looked about 8 second, but at 182 FWHP in a 2200 lbs car it should be sub-6 with a manual. BOV sounds great and the exhaust note is TUNERIFFIC! Now, about the first 25 seconds of fumbling and lense cleaning ;)

I can't wait to get mine!!

Honestly, 190HP is not a big deal for the internals on these motors. I can imagine that if you went hi-comp on the pistons you might want to look into better connecting rods, like you would with any motor, or just have the stockers balanced at least. VW's get 240+ out of a 1.8T all day long with a stock K03 turbo, chip, intake and exhaust with stock parts. Those motors are 10:1 compression as well, so it's fairly hi-comp for a turbo motor!

Beyond a good ZPI clutch and limited slip diff and bigger brakes, you're probably set. If you wanted to pump a 30psi Turbo, Nos and hi-comp pistons you might want to look for some new internals... or a different car. =)

Guy... the Yaris has a 10.5:1 compression ratio. Stock. And the rods a built like toothpicks.

I'm not sure you can compare a factory-turboed engine made for a performance(ish) car with an engine built to be light and for fuel economy. Apples and oranges.

Yea, auto car with no torque is no good. From 30 to 90 is much more impressive than 0-60.

The biggest thing with the launch, though, is getting 105lbs of wheel spinning... lighter wheels I would imagine would help a ton there.

I think the thing to remember here is ZPI didn't reinvent the wheel for the yaris... this has already been reliably done on XB's, both auto and manual.

I'm sure it shortens the life of the motor, but we are talkin a motor that would run until eternity :)
