Yeah... Our dash uses GPS speed. But if you just want to do a top end run (on a closed course) it is a temporary solution - although if you unplug it for your top end run you better have another way to verify speed.

This is the exact same solution to the limiter issue on the early Celicas, in fact the wire is marked SPD on the ECU main plug!

I also made one for the rev limiter, but am afraid to test it on a live engine.
If you set the rev limit to LESS than stock, you should be fine to test it.

That might be cool if you could turn it on and off with a toggle switch.

What is does is send a modified tach signal that indicates that the engine is spinning at a different speed than it really is. I am afraid to test it in either direction (telling it is is spinning faster or slower).

I really need another Crashy to be able to do potentially catastrophic testing on.

I would like to have the limiter disabled only for those times that I am taking it for official timeslips, etc once I have my turbo installed.

At what RPM does the stock rev limiter kick in? If it's anything like most FI factory systems, there is about a 200-500 RPM window above the point where it kicks in to safely rev the engine. Back in my Auto-X days, I raced a 1989 Civic Si, it's factory rev limiter kicked in around 7,000 RPM but the engine would free rev to around 7,200-7,400 and come back for more abuse!!
