Head size is 14mm, I'm off to Lowe's to confirm M10 status.
Here's a pic of the bolt with the spacer that comes with it:

dont go to lowes... i just need that spacers diameter, I'm basically trying to do this, i just need to make sure the hole in the bracket will go around that bolts spacer
and a simlar bracket for the bottom, thats the only real measurement I need before actually building the harness bars |

No it doesn't, and on my car, the bottom bolt is replaced with the eye-bolt for the harnesses.
The back face of my seat is 2" to the rear of the center of the upper bolt, by the way - although this will obviously vary from driver to driver.

I was thinking of getting together a group buy, after the first product is complete, that way I can get a decent discount on powdercoating, as well as saving money on the shipping of materials to me... of course after the first one is built, so i can have some pictures for you guys

Yes i can build a roll cage...
these will be around for a while... but after the initial interest has died I might make you wait a week, since I dont want to have a large overhead of harness bars lying around |

well as long as i can get it later its cool, and if you can build a roll cage that will allow you to keep your interior that would be super sick

yea i know that a roll cage looks cool but for you liftback owners it'd be very difficult to make it possible to use your back seats, not to mention the overall cost of a roll cage... remember you have to get it painted or powdercoated... so someone would really need to have a need for a roll cage if they were going to... but hey if someone wants to pay the price.... i'll make one
