heated mirrors
OMG I HAVE THEM!!! lol
the other morning my mirrors had quite a bit of ice on them, and i hate scraping the ice off my mirrors cuz it usually changes the aim of the mirror. so i decided since i would only be on a short drive i didnt need my mirrors, but i turned on rear defroster to defrost rear window and within a few mins the ice on my mirror fell off! i even opened my window to feel the mirror and it definatly was not cold. i didnt even know this was a option to get heated mirrors. just a side note my mirrors do not have the little heated symbol like all other cars do. just thought i would bring this to the attention of YW members as u may also have heated mirrors.

Mine has'em. I don't know whether it's a strictly North-European deal or if they are universal.
They really come in handy when you pull into a parking house in the wintertime. Non-heated mirrors fog up and become useless, but when you switch the defroster on and allow the mirrors to heat up before entering the house, they stay clear. It also keeps mirrors mist-free when it drizzles. For more info, check out this related thread. |

I think they were standard on 09+ Canadian ones (or at least Canadian RS). US ones from 09 on are wired for them, but don't have them. 06+ European ones have them as well.

Isn't there a "cold weather package" you can get? I have the RS as well, so perhaps I have heated mirrors as well. Hmm...

"06+ European ones have them as well."
I wish they did! My U.K. spec. 2010 Yaris Diesel didn't. |

Interesting. The European EPC shows part numbers 87989-0D260 {LH} and 87908-0D260 {RH} as the heated mirrors for KSP90, NSP90, and SCP90 Yaris "Outside Rearview Mirrror - Electric Remote Control W/HTR). So, it must be part of a package that is not standard on all European Yaris.

Are you positive that your 07 has heated mirrors? USDM Yaris were not even wired for them prior to 09.

Scott, You are the encyclopedia of yarisworld, I must ask your help again,
Are the wires in the "mirror heads" for the heaters, on a USDM power mirror car? In other words, I want to know how much wiring I need to do, what are the part #'s for my '10 3dr hatchback (if not I have a set of universal handwarmer elements for snowmobile that might work), and also do you have the "exploded view" diagram, know how, to take the darn things apart. As always you are the Yaris Man! Thanks in advance! Matt If I have to scrape my mirrors on more time, I'll scream, I swear I'm gonna strip out the power crap in the mirror head!

The extra wires just go from the connector under the drives side kick panel to the connector in the upper portion of the door, so you have to extend both sides. The "mirror" section of the service manual shows how to disassemble the mirrors: http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1768
