My new gauges set up
Not wired up. Copied Garm's setup. Didn't want a guage pod.
OIL PRESSURE. WIDEBAND A/F. BOOST/VACUUM. Also have a question. I am debating on keeping them flat/flush like the pictures above, or to have a set up with autometer angle rings. It would tilt the gauges a little more forward, but it adds more bulk to the set up. The benefits of it would be that it would prevent glare from the sun shining down on it, it'll be easier to read, and it gives it a more complete look to it. Anyways, let me know what you think. Use the angle rings to tilt the guages, or leave it flush? Keep in mind that the gauges aren't tilted as forward as they would be with the rings yet. I only cut the holes to make the gauges flush without the angle rings. So if i go with the angle rings, bigger holes will be needed and will allow the rings to sit flush and angle the guages more forward. Here's comparison pics. First has the angle rings, 2nd doesn't. RINGS: FLUSH: |

If you can see the gauges fine without the rings, I prefer that look. The reason I think the flush looks better is because you only have 2 different materials coming into contact together, three looks like either the rings, or the gauges don't belong.

I didn't need the rings to see the gauges.

Just to put it out there. The gauges CAN be seen without the rings. However, the rings will angle it slightly more forward for easier viewing. Possibly prevent glare from the sun through the windshield too.
I went forward with the rings. Still working on the wiring. Godspeed! |
