15" or 16"

Most every one who knows what they are doing around here that does Solo and scca races runs 15's on most smaller cars (mostly civics around here). The trick is get as wide as you can for stibility, yet have enough sidewall to flex to not loose traction on high G turns... my recommendation is a 15X7 to a 15X8 with a +30 to a +40 offset running a 225/50R15 tire.... That would be the Ideal set up.... and it is at a relitively low cost.
My set up (listed below) only ran me $450 and my car corners like it's her job, and I have not even lowered her yet

Mmm, nice advice there.

I have the custom 15'' aluminium rims and I have installed 195/55-15 tires.

Are there any online wheel retailers that list the weights of the wheels? I'd like to stick with a 15", but would like to go a bit lighter than stock.

Support our vendors! Buy some Konig Heliums... they're as light as you're going to get for the price, and trust me... the price is good.

wow

Wow looking at the 225/50/15 at pepboys seemed like they had a smaller sidewall. I would probley go with a 16 with a 215/45/16 or something along that.

www.goodwinracing.com has a few very good 15's
www.edgeracing.com also has some 15's. both sites list wheel weights...

I found this... It ROCKS hardcore... hope you can use it!

Tire Size Calculator
Use the calculator to see what happens to your speedometer reading when you change the size of your tires and wheels. The graphic shows your stock tire selection in an outline overlaid on your new tire selection.
