Public service announcement re: license plate bolts
Do yourselves a favor for those who live in the rust belt. Anti seize your license plate bolts and replace them with new ones if they're rusted.
I just wasted 2 hours of time to remove sheared off bolts that I ended up breaking off an ez out in one of them. Replacements are M6 1.00 25mm length.

Stainless FTW!
At least on the Gen2 HB, both front and back are bolted into plastic.

I broke an EZ-out or two as a kid. Don't use, and wouldn't except maybe for a bolt/screw drilled out until the thread base was just kissed somewhere and the remains could be collapsed and picked out. (Finally got a cheap set of reverse drill bits said to facilitate this.)
An easy out should work OK on a bolt overtorqued in a clean threaded hole that lost its head...because the remains is now loose. But if the bolt tightened up by packing rust as it was backed out, then an EZ-out in a too-small center hole is just going to swell the bolt tighter until the EZ breaks. My 91 Corolla was covered with little 10mm head fine thread screws that had to be worked out by tiny increases in amount of CW and CCW rotation, while being dosed with PB Blaster. |

Might loose a plate w/ plastic screws. (Maybe somebody parks-by-ear) Hardware store trays should have stainless ones in this size. Steel installed greased would be removable for a long time.

^ not in my experience. I've never received a vehicle with plastic bolts.
