Ding Ding Ding....the correct answer is!------------do what your TOYOTA manuel says.Some of the overseas folks' yaris may have different import criteria(There country's standards).Just do what the manuel says....you'll be fine.If you have concerns,then, use only Toyota oil and their oil filters...if something goes wrong,it will show that you used THEIR oil & their filters!.

I change my own oil using synthetic 5W-30 (PP or M1) and Toyota filters. Costs me ~$20 and 30 minutes each time.
