yaris oversteering

based on my SIG. mods, I am able to oversteer when approaching limits of traction.
So my theory between the 19mm sway bar vs the 23mm bar and non-adjustable shocks is... 23mm will induce oversteer at a much lower limit (obviously) while the 19mm does too but at a higher limit. lets say for sake of arguement the 23mm will oversteer a flat 90* turn @ 15 mph while the 19mm will at 20 mph.

Now relevent to my setup which is adjustable shocks... you should be able to tune the suspension to set the 23mm to oversteer at a high limit (from 15 mph to lets say 23mph) by adjusting the shocks. Going from full stiff and lowering in .5 turn incriments should produce the most effective results for time. Conversely, the suspension can be dialed down to induce understeer with the 23mm as well. The whole adjustablity aspect will be able to change the limits of the car and alter its driving characteristics.

Point being, if you are looking for a fun time, tune-ability and traction, go with adjustable shocks. Swaybar will determine at what limit(s) the car will over/understeer. A smaller diameter will understeer with more "stiffness" (compression/rebound) in the shock compared to the 23mm, which will be able to at a lower C/R.

I'm taking the set up to its first autoX to test settings and driving and will post results =)

It's a still a bit choppy... I am trying to balance the stiff chassis/ gt spec bars , sway and eibach springs with the hts. I am so glad I went with adjustable dampners !! I am looking for as tight as possible corner handling but a less choppy ride. It's so stiff at this point no female I know want to ride in it ! LoL

i run full stiff in the front and full soft in the rear.. i get very little oversteer. id start off in that direction first. then adjust according to your driving habbits.. if u get too much understeer cuz of that, id first start trying to soften the front a little bit. every driver is different when it comes to dampening control. what works for one may not work for another.. but u do want soft rear so the back has a chance to lean into a turn and keep the back tires on the ground.
