Amber Daytime Running Light Conversion? Any success yet? (2006-2011)
So this has been brought up in the past already, but the thread is long since dead/incomplete:
https://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=59375 Has anyone successfully converted from using the factory setup where the headlights are used (at reduced power) as daytime running lights to the amber parking/turn signal lights always being on instead? Much like other Toyota vehicles (ie: Tacoma). Reason for it is I'd rather not put the extra (unnecessary) hours on HID lights/ballasts in a projector retrofit setup that are expensive to replace. Legally I have to have DTRLs in Canada (yes, I will be pulled over without them). Since my understanding of electrical schematics is very limited, my tentative plan currently is to just remove the DTRL module under the dash and install an aftermarket stand-alone (external) LED DTRL kit in the bumper somewhere. It's not my favorite option as it isn't as clean as factory but it will work if I can't figure out the parking/turn signal idea. |
