Interior Project
So, after slacking and slacking I finally finished painting a nice portion of the interior of my car. Should have pictured my rims as well but that was second thought - They're Koing, White with an interior Pink stripe.
I also added a sub-woofer to my sound system, 2 12'' Pioneer Champion Series Subs and an 1100 Watt Boss amp. Next goals (if I ever decide to stop being lazy) is to replace the headlights and tail lights and upgrade the back/front seat speakers. Don't mind the dirty carpet, lol. I need new floor mats... |

Nice
Couple tweeters added to the sound system would definitely help. |

Picture of rims is required by yarisworld law..
thats alot of pink.. looks good though. may I ask, what type of paint did you use and did you do any prep work? I been wanting to paint my light grey trim peices also, but I am afraid of it peeling off and chipping like my crx paint did..

It's just Krylon spray paint from Walmart for plastic.
It stands up real well and I live in South Texas. Yeah, I did pieces with prepwork and without and a bit of prep would be your friend. Light standing on the smooth plastic will help it adhere and cleaning the patterned ones helps avoid debris. One major piece of advice, if you do it, don't get over zealous and put them back in before giving the paint a chance to really bond to prevent chipping. At least a few days. I did and chipped a bunch of spots and it drove me crazy. So I would strip the paint and start over. Plus side, if you do mess up the plastic is a lot stronger then many think. I've sanded them, blasted them with a pressure washer, soaked them in things like gas and paint thinner and they held up great. Lol, but be patient when you do It and it'll save you the headache. |
