The crash occurred Saturday night during an "exhibition burnout" — when a driver spins his tires to make them heat up and smoke — at the Cars for Kids charity event in Selmer, located about 80 miles east of Memphis....

How very sad.
If I read that properly people lined both sides of a public highway where the exhibition took place? If so, how could an event organizer actually be that reckless and allow such close proximity too the vehicle? |

I read it was a parade....If so a drag car shouldn't have been in it! ...at least not an idiot driver.

well the driver was only an "idiot" for accepting the invitation to the event. he should had asked about the safety of the event and not entered it. it was an accident. i bet the driver of the car is in terrible mental condition after killing 7 people, but he should had never been there in the first place. the promoters of the event should had done a better job of protecting the audience... what a shame. |

Hope the guy who accepted the invitation to perform at the show gets at least manslaughter charges. You should know better than to do such things while spectators surround the lane inwhich you intend to do that type of driving. It doesn't take that much intelligence to realize that it's DANGEROUS and DUMB.
I feel sorry for the victims and their families. |
