Reset "Maint Req" Light
2007 Yaris Sedan
My Maintenance light came on the other day. I bought the vehicle used a month ago. Oil on the dipstick looks clean and the dealer says they changed it when they got it. Should I trust it is new oil? How do I reset the light? |

Make sure your trip computer is in the "Trip A" mode. Turn the key to off, hold the trip reset button down as you turn the ignition to on. Watch the odometer, you will see 5 or 6 flashing bars that will disappear one by one. After all are gone, it will flash all 0's, then go back to your mileage. That's it, you're reset. Remember, don't let go of the odometer reset button until everything is all done.

If the oil is clean then, they probably did change it. The light takes 5000 miles to come on. So it probably wasn't on when they changed it.
