Advance Auto here in western PA has bright bulbs made by Hella, they're like $50 a pair, but the guys there say that they're even better/brighter than the others. In my parts sales experience (ASE certified), I've also found that Silverstars have serious longevity issues: 6 months you're lucky

What would be the best replacement bulbs to get other then the stock or HID's?

I'm curious about the Hellas as well. I'm interested because I can get the local and because they have a good rep for spotlamps on the offroad circuit. If anyone else has tried them on another car even please speak up!

How can you beat the price. I say give a try, not much to lose. If BRICK says they are ok I'm sold.

What can I say... I'm a dumbass!

The Sylvanias do look OK, but I paid $35.00 for my pair at Autozone. The Osram Silverstars are the best out there, and they are only like $31.21 a pair - shipped! I'm gunna scream now!

http://www.powerbulbs.co.uk/ just change currency to USD in the lower left corner of the site.
a guru of lighting over on importpassion.com was dissappointed with the osram and regular silverstars, both in light output and longevity. I am hapopy with my regular silverstars(the ones you have NS) and I have no problems...my first pair lasted 4 years up until last week, but I drive mostly at night coming home from work so I get more use than average drivers, plus I love me some HIGH BEAMS....(IN MY CIVIC, before I get railed about how I could have a yaris for four years...hehe)

I have heard very good things about the osram silvertars. I have used the sylvania silverstars and they were fine but they were coated and didn't put out as much light on the road. The last set I had in the VW were going strong at one year already still on the car when I sold it. Looking around on the web the 50+ osram like I have I see excellent ratings.

Here's that pesky thread! Taking the bumper cover off is the way to go on this.

Back from the dead!
