Baldwin also makes a very good oil filter. B33 for the Yaris.

In my unfortunate ignorance I used Fram's for years in my "domestic" vehicle. Eventually I got tappet noise and tried changing oil/filters more often, tried a high detergent additive, tried a Pennzoil filter (crap, too)--all to no avail. I put a Baldwin on it and the tappet noise went away on my next drive. I'm a believer.

Wix is one of the best from what i have read. Purolator PureONE and Mobil 1 filters are really good as well.

they use good filter media, and have actual metal end caps and valves, where as fram uses plastic/cardboard.

i changed out the breakin oil with Pennzoil Platinum and a mobile 1 filter about 2 weeks ago but have been using m1 filters for about 8 years now. my escorts engine looked new after 90K+ miles.

anyone have air filter numbers. i am in need of that info too. as i am staring down the barrel of a VOLCANIC eruption

You can use the WIX filter for the 2.4L We have a rav4, 2005 and I use the same filter on both. Its a little longer ( 1/4"?) but fits no prob - same specs so no prob there either. I think the last digit of the part # is a 6 instead of a 4. Bigger is better with filters!

The purolator doesnt fit right on my 08 3 dr. It doesnt grab enough threads when you twist it on maybe only 2 which is NOT enough! And I like purolator too. And AC delco Too You dont want to risk the thing falling off - or stripping threads. Why purolator doesnt fit well

AC Delco looks different now. The last one I bought looked exactly like the STP oil filter.
Same company may even make filters for AC-Delco and STP, but there's been a redesign on the AC-Delco...different shade of blue, plastic inner tube, etc...

Yeah Ist, thats Champion Labs OEM. Makes all the Private label stuff. Never found it to be good. LOOKS ok though. Must be the paper media is substandard?? I Have one Supetech in my garage that I pulled off a 2007 Chevy Truck V6 that was having problems. The "OLD STYLE" DELco worked much better. Luckily I found some dusty old boxes of Delco at a locale Auto parts store and scooped 'em up. No Chevy truck anymore thoughJust the Yaris

Absolutely. Just get the one for the 2AZFE 2.4L motor - more filter area same bypass opening pressure, diameter and baseplate, threads, etc. I just ask for a filter for a 'Yota '05 Rav4 four cylinder. Fits like a charm.

My first choice is Purolator Pure One http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...ONEPL30001.jpg

My second choice is Baldwin (Hastings)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...dwinB2-HPG.jpg

My third choice is Wix also branded as NAPA (gold).
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...5-Wix51515.jpg

Beware of Champion Labs E-Core branded as STP, AC and Super Tech as fiber end caps peel off easy. This design also finishes last in every test I ever saw.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...ave/STPS8A.jpg

Also Fram has been cost cutting over the years and uses Cardboard end caps. Every filter study I see is weary of this design.

Replacement part is not the OEM part. Its a cheap substitute made in Thailand. Support Great American manufacturers like WIX! I like Thai food though
