CA bans ICE starting in 2035

https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a3...vehicles-2035/

Meanwhile, today, the wife and I test drove the ...

2020 Nissan Leaf EV
2020 Mini Cooper EV
2020 Chevy Bolt EV

and all 3 sucked for different reasons.

I've been trying to buy a new car (preferably electric) for a while with no luck.

When you find that new car, please consider donating your Yaris to me, jad.

My next door neighbour has a new Hyundai Kona electric. I drove it the other day and was actually impressed. It's surprisingly quick, agile, quiet, and comfortable. It has a 258 mile range and gets numerous glowing reviews. Maybe you could test drive one.

Agreed. But, some colours look better than others.

agree

loved the modern, upscale interior and it will break the front tires loose at 30 mph with wicked torque steer.

hated the front end styling and the wheels and they wanted $12k down + $400/ month on a 3 year lease which is much more than even the tesla model 3!

i still enjoyed driving it

That lease is insane!

Lease specials from the Hyundai website:

2021 Kona Electric $3999 cash $319/mth. 36 mths.

I've driven the Ioniq hybrid and I actually liked the car. I've not driven the electric model. It only has a 170 mile range.

2020 Ioniq Electric $2500 cash $239/mth. 36 mths.

What about the Kia Niro EV? I've never driven the car, but it does have a 239 mile range and gets great reviews. I think it's basically the same platform as the Kona. Plus, I think it's a bit better looking.

Kia website shows some decent lease specials:
2019 Niro EV $2499 cash $259/mth. 24 or 36 mths.
2020 Niro EV $2999 cash $299/mth. 24 or 36 mths.

At the current rate that our country is circling the toilet, we will all be driving Mad Max type cars in the wild & chaotic American dystopian wasteland of 2035.
