Removing rear wiper

Does anyone use the rear wiper? The glass is almost vertical, only have my hatch a few days would like to remove the wiper for a really clean looking rear debadged look. Hate that darn wiper. Do you think I'm shooting myself in the foot if I remove it for looks or can anyone please comment if its that usefull???

i find it very useful, the rear window really collects water, even in light rain.

i keep thinking about how much it must suck to not have the rear wiper.

I like having one too. Give it a few weeks before you decide.

Well, won't you have a hole on the body after you remove the wiper? How would that be a clean look?? I rather have a wiper than a screw sticking out from the liftgate. Plus it works in rainy day or when your car gets all the dirt after the rain.

However, I would like to ask does anyone know how to replace the rear wiper? Coz it seems the rear wiper can't lift up 90 degree like the front one? How am I suppose to replace it if needed? And there's a plastic housing covering it too. Thank you!

Replacing Rear wiper blade

Pop off the black plastic cap, then you can easily remove the wiper blade

Just leeve it unless you plan on removing the motor shaft/motor, filling the hole and re-painting the hatch.
It's going to look retarded with the motorshaft poking out of the hatch.

Besides if you ever decide to drive this car in the winter you will be happy you kept it on there. The snow, salt and slush from the road builds up on the rear window like you would not believe, just as driving down dusty roads will.
yes it is that useful.

yeah, found it a bit fast for not so heavy rain... and too much trouble to do it manually.

the only time I use it is when I cant see out the back window backing out of my driveway, wouldnt be too cool to drive over the neighbor kid.
Im going to pull mine at some point in time, maybe this spring.

You can purchase a nice fitting plastic cap that will seal up the whole at most hardware stores.... or you can purchase the billet aluminum one from C-One through Bulletproof.

I've yet to use the rear wiper on mine... probably will remove it for weight savings and aerodynamics eventually
