Led headlights?
Just wondering if the newer type led's with the heat sink on back will work in the h4 yaris headlights? Since the h4's have that rubber seal around the back of the bulb. And a good bright reputable led if anyone knows what brand is good!

No problems fitting it into the Yaris' cramped space?

Even more important that brightness - how do these affect the light pattern? Most LED replacements I have seen for other globes have the LEDs covering a different area to the original globe filaments. This can significantly change the pattern of light output. Worst possibility with the headlights is to dazzle other drivers and possibly cause an accident.
I look forward to seeing the photos of the light output.

Thanks. Great photos. I will have to get some of these and try them.

I'd love to see how they look from an incoming direction. Up close they seem like they have a decent cut off but from any kind of distance they shed a lot of bright light up top even on low beams.
I'm all for brighter lights but in almost every case I've seen anything brighter than oem needs a projector or else they blind other drivers and tell "I do half assed mods to look good but screw other drivers" They may actually not be bad at all tough to tell though without seeing them in person. They are much better than oem. So many cars in my area throw in led's or hid's and skip on projectors to "save money" and they make it impossible to see.

Headlamp bulbs are a PITA to replace in a Yaris, and you basically have to take the bumper/cowl partly off. So I would like to only use LED replacements from now on, but just with regular brightness. Is that not possible?

Check out the picture below of how it looks onwards. Note: Driver side needs allignment. Any DIY guides on how to do this? This thing is, reflector housings were never designed for brighter output. The cut-off will always be washy. The same thing will happen if you change your OEM bulbs with brighter halogen bulbs. If you trully want a poper cut-off, then a projector retrofit is the only real way to go.

Do a proper HID projector retrofit. Anything other then a HALOGEN bulb in a housing designed around a HALOGEN filament and the way it produces light is going to be a downgrade and reduces safety for you and other motorist. You basically paying to downgrade the car.
My favorite halogen bulb that I ran in my sedan prior to HID projectors was the Osram Nightbreaker. Powerbulbs.com sells em for a great price and I absolutely loved them. However nothing beats properly engineered HID projectors with excellent cut off and more even light beam
