Should I replace coolant pump at 130K miles?
I have entire front removed, including radiator (crash). I have no idea about vehicle history - bought it wrecked. I am tempted to replace water pump, as it easily accessible at this stage of repair. The question is: Should I bother? I read these cars go 300k and even more on original pumps.

2012 does not have a history of problematic water pumps. My '06, which does have the pump some have reported issue with is still problem free after 380,000km. Leave yours in there.

leave the pump
My 2009 has 295k miles with the original water pump. I had to replace the gearbox this past weekend though.

My 2007 had the original water pump replaced in 2015 as it was pink all around.
According to the authorized service center this was common issue for Yaris with this engine (2SZFE). No problem since then. I would actually say - if it is so nicely accessible now then I would go for a change (for some quality brand!). 10 years of service is quite a lot. |

130k miles on a an item thats little more than 2 bearings and a seal is nothing, leave it be...if the gasket shows signs of color or weaping then by all means change it

Definitely leave it, if it has an issue down the road then change it out. It can be done with the engine in place it just is a bit more finicky.

350k original everything except for a personally rebuilt alternator. These cars usually need nothing but oil
