Just wanted to know how long it took the 08's to get their rebates from the Government. I sent mine in probably 2 months back, then got a letter a month ago saying they received it. When can I expect to get this money?
I think I read that the application has to be sent in before Feb 09. I'm just worried that they'll send me a letter in Mar 01 09 saying I was missing something and didn't qualify and bs their way into saying I submitted after the due date.

Sadly, the Canadian government discontinued the program also. The Conservatives don't much care for anything prefaced with eco or that isn't an upper class tax cut.

If you want to feel better about not having an eco rebate program in the US, just look at the insane prices we pay for nearly everything in Canada vs the US. The Yaris isn't bad, but many cars, like the Prius, are 10 grand more for no reason.

I totally second this. My 08 sedan is a non-s trim (without bodykit, cruise, fogs, and rear wing spoiler). I added the bodykit (front sides and rear) on top of my sedan and it came out to be $20xxx after taxes, freight, and everything.
Considering that the bodykits were $1300.xx altogether, I paid almost $19xxx for the car itself.
Now, minus $1000 gov't rebate and minus $750 discount from MSRP, and I end up with somewhere around $17K for the car.
I am pretty god damned sure that I can get the exact same car for around $13K USD.

They sure do take their sweet sweet time getting the rebate going. Like how hard is it to send a cheque out in the mail. All they have to do is make a call to the toyota dealership to verify a few pieces of info.
I'll wait up till the end of Jan 09 I guess then start harassing them.
Have any of you guys actually called their number to inquire on your rebate?
