View Full Version : WHAT WOULD YOU PAY FOR a new '08 YARIS 2 door L.B.
with automatic , convenience package , A.B.S. , Side and Curtain Airbags ( F & R ) , Keyless Entry , Power Windows , Locks , and Side View Mirrors with M.S.R.P. of $15,900 ? The dealer price is $13,691 . Do you think $13,000 is doable or even better ? Got to take depreciation into consideration . Would be more of a hit on the '08 than an '09 when driven of the lot . THANKS

I paid $13,800 for an '09 "S" LB with Power Package/Keyless/etc. (side/curtain airbags & ABS standard now) a few weeks ago. With Toyota sales down 37% and the halting of production for 11 days, I would think that you could do better. I'm sure they want to sell it even more than you want to buy it. Good luck.
thanks , dealers here in the Northeast are more stubborn  . Must be a regional thing , I guess :iono: . That seems like a steal , you should be feelin' guilty  . Are you for hire to help us make a deal ?

That's a misleading title. Was hoping we were playing "The Price Is Right" :frown:
$13K out-the-door for a new Yaris with all those options is a very good deal, practically a steal IMO.
I paid $12.5K for mine including power package and factory alloys. I wasn't getting much in comparison to your offer, but I would've gladly slapped-down a petty $500 more for all the options you've got

No trade - I was driving a '92 Mazda MX-3 that KBB'd for about $600 and I know someone that wants it. I put down 5k mainly to keep my payments down.

Yes - that was the sticker price. Surprised me, too - I would have been happy with mid 14k (but I'm not complaining...).

The best part is I did it online. I gave the dealers my home land line # and let 'em talk to the machine all day, and only dealt with the email-friendly ones. I went to one dealership to test drive (they didn't have what I wanted and really wanted to unload what they had on hand), made the deal with another dealer via email - went and drove it around the block and bought it.

LOL - really, though, I didn't have to work too hard. I got an email quote of $14,200 (which I had to verify was an "S" with Power Pack/etc.) and sent it along to the other dealers to beat. None of them would even match it. I waited a day for responses and the original dealer must have thought I was getting cold feet because the next morning I got a new quote of $13,800 - I might have been able to knock a few more dollars off, but it just wasn't worth it to me at that point. I did get them to throw in a cargo net and a free oil change though. All in all pretty effortless.
wonder if they had a full lot of YARIS(es) on their premises to move , that helps at times . Otherwise you lucky S.O.B. !!!

To get a bottom-of-the-barrel economy car, regardless of the economy, at, or below, invoice, is an amazing feat. Now if we were talking about Tundra or an FJ Cruiser, on the other hand...
agree . Depends on the demand at that period of time . The YARIS were slow movers in the 1st year and 1/2 or so . Many people wait to buy if not familiar with a new model to see it's dependability , etc..
