and I just can't hide it!!
Just put in my order for the TRD rear sway bar from Sparks. I'm real excited that it's going to be on it's way but at the same time I'm not sure what to expect. I don't want to get my hopes up that it's some "groundbreaking, earth shattering" difference in driving experience but from what I've read on this forum, it sure seems like it's very noticeable in what it does in fact change.
Can anyone describe what exactly I have to look forwards to? :headbang:

It's really is worth every penny, it makes the car feel like a different car more like a go cart. Before the sway bar I was always braking alot before turns, now it seems like I don't have too. It also helps with windy days. I think also makes the car feel more solid, and the wandering of the steering seems to be less noticable than before. TRD sway bar- is a must for the Yaris, they should come with from factory like a few others on here have said.

Great suspension upgrade worth every penny of the minor investment. You'll be impressed with significantly tighter handling and more sense of control.

Anybody using the Trd sway bar with the Gt spec rear sway brace ??? or will they not work together ? I remember reading something about using those together pre-hack , Can somebody chime in ?

Of all the mods and money ive spent on my up to date i would say the TRD proved the best bang for the buck. When i did a oil change for my brothers corolla i noticed how his car had a rear sway bar from the factory and a lower tie bar from factory.
So once i put it on my car its like the missing link was completed. Its something that should have been on every yaris from the factory. Now the car dosnt feel like its being thrown around on the freeway on a windy day. And when taking a turn the tires down squeel. And changing lanes it feels like the car is floating on air. You wouldnt belive how one little bar could make so much difference.
I think i felt more of a difference than when i put cusco swaybars on my 240sx

Mine from Sparks didn't have that....damn.

I suppose they will, but why bother....it's about a 30 minute DIY.

Well my username pretty much gives away where it's being shipped to. With the sway bar and shipping together, it came out to about $165.
Not bad as compared to when I called the dealership I bought my car from that is some 20 minutes away and they wanted $189 and still charge me more to include tax.
Seems Sparks is right on the ball, I ordered last night and when I woke up early this morning, there was already a confirmation from Ken about my order being done. Lightning fast work right there!

I got it put on by the dealership, don't know how much it cost's because long story short I got it installed for free, some how. Mine was $153 + shipping at sparks.com.
I am really considering getting this, but will it ship? Anyways, is this a moderate DIY, or hard? Consider that I am mechanically retarded.

Well from the way I see it by looking at the forum and peoples installation guides on this site, it's easy as can be. Pretty much take off a couple of bolts, put the bar in place and rebolt them on. Then add an extra bolt to each side and your finished.
Zing,
I think Sparks would ship to Lebanon. They have a section where you choose your country and then the type of shipping you want, then it will give you the cost of the product and shipping.

+1 on this. I'm picking up the sway bar either thursday or saturday, and getting brakes from garm on saturday too
Tried it. But problem is that these things are flawed. Since I do not have a postal/ZIP code it won't work. Either ways I once tried ordering from that site...they were charging me 250$ for a 150$ item. Not worth it.

20 minutes to install, including scrounging up the tools and tidy-up after.
It's a "no-brainer". Four bolts. Simple hand tools. Changing a tire is more complicated.

the product has nothing to do with shipping to your area, it's unfortunate but it's unfair to say the sway bar is flawed.

Zing - did you buy your car at a local Toyota Dealer? Wouldn't they be able to sell you the sway bar?
Yup I did. I will ask them, but I am not getting my hopes up hehe. Thanks.

I don't know if its the same in lebanon, but I just got back from ordering my sway bar at the dealership here in southern california. They quoted me 190 over the phone but I told them another dealership had it for 150 on the internet, so they gave it to me for 151 plus tax .
I'm picking it up tomorrow

Well I got the bar on yesterday at a local shop down the street from me. I didn't have the tools to get it done on my own so took it up there. They threw it up on the hoist and took like 10 minutes to get it all put on. I didn't really think much of it when I backed out of the garage and started driving away. It felt "slightly" different but thought maybe I was imagining things. As soon as I started to pull out of the driveway though onto the road, boy was I wrong on having low expectations.
Immediately I saw a stark difference in without the bar vs having it installed. The nosediving understeer was nearly gone completely and the way I can describe the feeling is that the car feels "stiff" and "direct". "planted" is another word that comes to mind as well. For a $150 upgrade part, I really wasn't expecting such a drastic improvement but it really is just that.
