Ok, I posted about losing my credit card down the crack between the front seat and seat back and was duly chastized here for NOT using one of the many (many) compartments provided. So when I had to store four quarters for an upcoming expense on the road, I popped them into one of those little triangular holders on the side of the middle console. Lo and behond, DOWN under the plastic did two of those quarters disappear! Where does the gumball come out, LOL??? This may be a nice car in many ways, but DUMB interior design... That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it...

Remind me to break it open to recover all my lost cards and cash before I send it off to the salvage yard in ten years...

Scary. I wonder how hard it is to get it from in there. In case something important drops inside...

I was pretty determined to get those two quarters back, but I quit "fishing" for them when I realized I was about to slice my thumb open on that sharp, hard plastic edge lining the bottom of the compartment... 50 cents vs. 50 dollars co-pay in the emergency room to suture up laceration; hmmmmmm.

:laugh:I put change in the driver side glove box in the place for coins. However, it does not hold to many, so I always have coins rolling around in there. I have never lost out of that glove box.....yet !

That's where I STORE my quarters; not where I keep the exact number of quarters I need to grab on the road... Yeah, open up the lid of that driver's side glove box right over your eyes while you're driving... Great design there!!!

notice that black thing that I hung up against the passenger-side triangle compartment? you can get a similar sort from any auto accessory store (for me I got it from canadian tire) for only a couple bucks.

that's where all my change go. apparently...I think I have about 15 bux worth change in there....too much! but it holds really well.

I had the same thing happen to me just hte other day.. Unfortuantely I had about 6 bucks in quarters I had throw in there on my way to do laundry. When I went to scoop them out I heard a few fall.. I havn't heard them moving around yet so I havn't tried fishing them out.. The xrta weight is going to cut into my MPGS!

I just use the little change holder compartment to the left of the steering wheel. Works good for me.

It's the emergency break he had to buy because the original emergency break... Well, you know... It's like the storage compartments that don't really work as storage compartments... You have to buy another one...

LOL that's my little toy when I get bored @ red lights.

Anyways, I really didnt like the noise coming from compartments when I listen to high-bass music, the noise when coins hit each other. To be honest with you, I didnt even know the fact that our yaris like to eat coins like OP said. I bought that black thingy solely to prevent the noise.
