Hello. this is the final quote i got. Please suggest on 3 questions below -

2009 Type S Sedan Silver
All-weather Guard &
Power Packages
Carpet floor/trunk ats
TRD 18" dealer installed wheels and tires 215 35 R18
$18,000 after all rebates and discounts. Plus ~$1,100 (tax, token, etc)
Dealer will pay back $500 for the 4 15" alloy wheels n tires with the power package. So, all together, looking at $18,600 out the door.

1) Is it worth it? If not, what should be asked for?
2) Will the 18" TRDs give trouble driving w/ 4/5 average passengers? Like rubbing against wheel-panel/wall? Or any other?
3) Can any of u post your pictures here, if you have 18" TRDs?

Look forward to your kind responses.

are huge 18" wheels worth $2000 to you?

only asking because.. toyota is grossly overpricing their "TRD" wheels. buy a car with Factory options, as dealer installed options do not increase the "value" of the car per say. then upgrade to different wheels in the future. a couple months surfing the forums here and you'll probably go with a 15 or 16" wheel, saving you bundles up front and down the road as well (better tires for less money)

Personally, I'd go with steelies and hubcaps. Then once you have the car you can buy any wheels you want. The TRDs are common and aren't the best looking wheels on a Yaris IMO. Save some money and personalize your car yourself.

Run away from this "deal!" Run fast, run NOW!

start with www.tirerack.com

and www.discounttiredirect.com

dont' necessarily buy from them, but use them as a guide to find what you're looking for

http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/findWheelDetail.do?bp=4-100&pc=63566&counter=1&wd=18&rw=7.5

i personally think this would look good on a yaris if one HAD to have 18's

but yaris is 4 lugs, right? Thanks for all your quick responses!

will the 18s rub against the wheel-wall/panel of a yaris sedan?

yes, it's a generic photo of the wheel. click the link above the picture and you'll see the setup for your car.

if you're not lowered heavily, and are on the proper sized tire for your car, your 18" wheel will not rub unless heavily coerced.

good luck with your purchase, stick to the BARE essentials when you buy, and upgrade later! it'll make your yaris-owning experience that much more special, knowing you got to pick exactly what gets bolted to your car.

(and keep in mind, for 18,000 there are LOTS of other cars out there)

18's will work fine. There is a whole thread about them somewhere around. There are also lots of different opinions on wheel sizes, to drop or not to drop etc. In the end get some wheels that YOU like.

This is a good thread too http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5021&highlight=wheels

I have 18's on mine (not TRD though) and don't have any issues with them whatsoever and I think larger wheels look better on the liftback. I'm sure there are pics of sedan's w/18's around here too.

In an attempt to keep the thread on topic... OP: I agree with the rest here, you can get a better deal and should buy aftermarket wheels.

I know what you were asking and why you were asking it. I just don't want to give the mods more work to do on a Sunday

Yes THANK YOU lol.

Like others said, not the best deal. Stay away from any wheels from the dealership. You'll find a much better deal online.

I'll also say that more often than not, people that buy big wheels for their Yarii end up regretting it and getting smaller wheels, myself being one of those. Low profile rubber on an econobox can make for an annoying ride. Altitude, I'm not trying to steal your thunder... I know you're an exception to this and I agree that larger wheels look better on the liftback, but man do they get bumpy. I used to have 17's with a 40 profile tire and was thrilled to go back to a 15" wheel with 55 rubber.

It's all good. Everyone has their own opinions on style and ride quality. Having driven a Wrangler for the past ten years a stiff and bumpy ride is nothing new to me. On the plus side the roads where I live aren't all that bad and running 18's on my Yaris is a smoother ride than my Jeep - so it's all relative.

blazin - details pls - scratches/dents?; 4 18 black trd's wheels n tires, right?; tire size?; thread left?; w/ shipping? can u post pics of all 4? including 16 lug nuts/screws?

ALL - thanks - so i will skip the dealer TRDs. That will be $16,500 out the door for type s sedan w/ 15" alloy, spoiler, side skit and other packages, also including tax title tag processing fee. can possibly reduce it to 16,000.

Worth it now?

I'm with you, not only do I also have a Wrangler (05 LJ) but I also run larger tires on my Yaris (215/45ZR17 Riken Raptor ZR tires on American Eagle MSR Style 138 rims with +42mm of backspacing).

Sure, I know I sacrifice a little gas mileage with the larger tires; but the car looks so much better with those wheels on it! There is a stock Yaris where I work and sometimes we park next to each other. The difference is significant!
