I live about 5 miles from you, in Perkasie, Pa. Real sorry to hear that your Yaris was stolen. Where was it stolen, what area? What police dept. did you report it to? It was fully insured?
My son's Honda SI was stolen this year, and they found the shell, major strip, in North Philadelphia. It was fully insured, so he then purchased an S2000.

A blazing blue Yaris lb shouldn't be too hard to find. There's what... maybe 10 in the whole state?
Hpoe this all works out OK. Helping people is still the right thing to do, well grounded fears aside.
I paid cash too and my PA dealer wanted proof of insurance before handing me the keys.

He purchased private a 2000 S2000, with the insurance and some cash. (It was a car that did not hit the reserve on Ebay). I did not mean for it to sound like he was able to do it without some additional cash.
I did not want to get off the subject of what has happened, a Yaris being stolen, and not being insured. I really hope they find this car in the new condition it was in. I would not count on the local police doing much.

Wow.. you have a new car 3 weeks driving it around with no insurance??? Then you let a complete stranger into your car, leave it running while you step out of it?? I am sorry but that is just stupid to do as I am sure you realize now. Not only that but you are lucky you didn't get into an accident with the car. At fault accident with no insurance. Oh the Police would have fun with that one.

Sometimes you are covered for X number of days under the insurance for your old vehicle. Not sure if it is the law or just the policy of some insurance companies. But you should report it to your company the day you get it.
Also yes it was very dumb to leave a stranger in your car with the keys, but if you get it back, it will probably be wrecked, and you will then get fined or your driver's license pulled for driving with no insurance. The police will not give you your car back without insurance if it does happen to be driveable. That was a $13K mistake bud....

In Wi. they don't check your ins. unless you are financing or leasing the vehicle.
I think this guy is making up a story..
1. If he has cash to buy the car, why he didn't get insurance for 3 weeks?
2. If he lease or finance the car, the dealer must check his insurance (no matter which state).
From all these fact.. either he is dumbass or he is making up a story.

well, i got financed at my bank, and had to show no insurance at the dealership, and my bank gave me 30 days to send proof of insurance. but still had it effective the day i took home the car
I sure hope this isn't for real because if it is, it's just plain stupid. First, don't give anyone a ride, it's just not safe these days. Second, insure the damn car. Thirdly, proofread your posts because they are damn hard to read!

If you don't have insurance, Police "serve and protect" will not look for your car.
Could be just me but, when my house was robbed, i called the cops, first thing the cops asked me when they got there was, if i had insurance on the house, i said not for robbery. They just laughed and said "okay, we'll see what we can do then" and i never heard from them again.
I just think there's no one to pressure them to do their job.

i called to peruzzi and they fix everything with my insurance so i already order another one.
by the way, on PA when you by a car and you have insurance, is 15 day grace to report to insurance, also Between this 15 day the insurance is the higher level on the market.

You live in PA and have no grammar? TROLL... lock this thread.
On my way to take delivery of my new Yaris, I dropped by my Insurance Broker's office and picked up a new print-out of the insurance, that had the VIN of the new car. I had arranged it with him the day before and he had the new slip waiting for me in an envelope with the reception. The first thing I did when I picked-up the car, was to make sure that the VIN on my insurance slip matched the VIN on the actual car. I wouldn't take any short cuts with the insurance on a brand new car. It wouldn't make sense, just like the rest of your story.
However, there are situations where I would be sympathetic to someone who was driving without insurance. And I know of a few. Young adults on their own, needing a car for work, without any prior insurance history. In this scenario, in Toronto, the younge person would have to pay about $5000/year to get insured (An amount that's probably worth 10 times the actual value the shit-box they're driving). So in Toronto, if you're a new driver and don't have a good paying job, or don't have rich parents, you need to become a criminal to in order to drive a car.

I feel for you man. That really sucks your car got stolen. Since your car is stolen you can't do the route, unless you have rental coverage on your insurance. That was a cool thing picking up that guy. Glade someone still has morals and compassion in this country.

Tonight I picked up my Silver Yaris HB. My dealer is the same dealer that sold leamsi his Blue Yaris HB, that was stolen. THE STORY IS REAL! I met his saleman, Mark Roberts, and he told me the story of the stolen Yaris. Also, his replacement Blue Yaris HB is in the dealer lot, waiting for the insurance check to arrive. Hopefully everything works out for leamsi.

Do yourself a favor- just stop talking about stuff that you have no clue about. It's you that ends up looking like the ass.
