Help me pick a color

Hey, since it looks like I will be joining the ranks of Yaris owners, help me pick a color. These are the colors that I am considering.

I will most likely be buying my Yaris tomorrow, so this poll will lose its meaning soon.

Zephyr blue. It's light enough to not show scratches or dirt too badly.

Agreed Zephyr Blue. I think it's also one of the new colors for 2009 so there may not be too many of them around. I like being a little bit unique.

I really like the Pacific Blue. I've not seen many in our area, plus isn't that the one that has your wife's approval? Us womenfolk have to stick together. :biggrin:

The Zephyr Blue is okay, but it's a little pastel for my taste. Pacific Blue seems more understated and classy to me.

Is there a lot of variation in the amount of metallic in the Flint Mica paint jobs? It seems that there was more metal flake, if that is the proper term, in the Flint Mica Yaris at Don Moore in Owensboro that there was in the three cars of that color in Clarksville today. It was a cloudy day, so I wonder if that is why I didn't see the sparkling particles in those cars today?

I have a crap monitor here, so it's pretty hard to tell, but I've seen the Flint Mica in person, and the red one...

Why don't you let your wife choose the color?

You have to get the colour you like the most, because you're going to look at it everyday and wish you had if you don't. I've learned my lesssons with the show every scratch and fleck of dust with black and the fading to pink with red. Then I went silver, with my next cars, but I think the Yaris looks unfinished in that colour.

If all you care about is scratches and looking clean, silver is always the best choice.

We chose pacific blue for a compromise between looks and keeping clean and it's still our favorite overall colour for the Yaris.

Looks like Flint Mica is the winner in this poll, and it was the same way in the poll I started in the Jeep website I hang out in. Flint Mica was also my color all along, given that I would not buy Barcelona Red out of respect for my son's feelings.

Flint Mica turned out to be darker than I thought it would be before I had actually seen a Yaris in that color and while I was just going by pictures. It took me a while to decide that I really do like the "real" Flint Mica.

I really like white, but it might be time for a change. My Cobalt is white, the S-10 pickup that I traded-in on the Cobalt was white, and my Jeep Wrangler is white. We also inherited a white 1989 Olds Delta 88 Royale from my mom and dad. That car is currently on loan to my son in law.

I also like the Pacific Blue, and I like silver.

What will I end up with???? This is the day that I am supposed to make the deal, and I STILL don't know which color to get.

That's because you're trying to compromise and get something you don't really want.
You want the RED one.

If that helps any, none of the colors you show us are bad (like that weird orange metallica I saw on a Honda Fit the other day) :barf: so no matter what you get, it'll look nice. The light colors (except white) would probably the easier to keep looking clean. I would have gotten the silver hatchback if I could have but the dealer selling the silver hatchback was a jerk, so I ended up with the absolutely red at another dealership, which is fine for little hatchback but maybe not for a sedan.

I know flint mica won, and that's my second choice. I got the silver sedan for one reason - it NEVER - EVER looks dirty from more than a foot away. I can go a month without washing it and it still shines.

Thanks to all of you who have "cheered me on" and to those of you who advised against the trade. You who said I should keep the Cobalt were right from all practical aspects, but, like I said earlier, this decision was made from the heart, not from the head. There were SOME practical reasons to make the trade, but they were more than offset by the reasons NOT to trade.

Flint Mica is the world's best color. :cool: (IMO)

But it's ultimately up to you. The reason why cars come in hundreds of different colors is because no one can agree on what is the "best" color.
