Bought Yaris 2000

The Yaris is only new to the American market. Other markets have had it since 1999 (as pictured above). We have what is the 2nd generation Yaris which also goes by the name Vitz, Belta, or Vios depending on market. And actually, when the 2nd gen arrived in the US, it was already a year old in most other countries including Canada where they got it starting in 2006.

Alway's remember that America always gets everything last. :wink: Even though we're the richest, most advanced, most powerful country. Go figure.

And also up here in Canada we've had the Echo hatchback, or the Yaris hatchback (3 & 5 door), since 2004. :thumbsup:

But the big question is, why is Gus' car in Psych a five-door Canadian Echo, as we didn't get the five-door Yaris in the US until this year (2009)??

Well, the answer is that even though the show is set in Santa Barbara, California; it is actually filmed in White Rock, British Columbia, Canada! The show also incorporates Vancouver and various locations around the Lower Mainland of British Columbia as a backdrop.

But you'd think they'd at least use a car that was available in the States!
