I'm please to report that Bamboo had a little outing in San Francisco today and yesterday. Yesterday, I'm not sure where he was, he didn't say. But today, he went out to watch the cable cars while I was working, then after work we both went shopping together. We didn't find a jacket small enough for him at the mall today, but Bamboo had a great time at the Ferrari shop :biggrin: and we stopped at the Apple store and played with the new iMacs.

We also noticed that they're installing a skating rink in the middle of Union Square, and Bamboo made me promise to return there with him. I haven't ice-skated in ages, but I think this could be really cool. Did you know pandas like to ice-skate? :smile:

Don't worry, guys more pictures are definitely coming. Panda loves to be photographed!! The weather is really overcast right now, rainy and dark, so he's just been laying low right now, chilling at home while I go to work. Weather should clear up in a couple of days, so we'll get you some outdoor pics with a couple of famous San Francisco landmarks.

Is there anything in particular you guys want to see?

I have close to 200 pictures of [Panda] but many are no good because when the camera focuses on a monument (distance), then the panda in the foreground gets all blurry, or the other way around. Very hard to have both in focus.

As to the rule, oh, well, this panda is still in production, doesn't even have a name yet, so I don't know if the rule applies ;) :biggrin: We'll see! :smile:

I can set up the poll (don't vote in the thread, please, wait for the poll to be up instead) but first we need to decide what to do if there is a tie (or several).

It looks like there are a lot of names, and I'm not sure how many forum members are actively following this thread, so it's possible that half these names end up tied with just a couple of votes. What do you guys want to do if that's the case?

Here is my idea: maybe we should have the panda's Primaries until the WE, then unless we have a clear winner, pick the lead names and vote again, this time with a 3 day poll? What do you think, does that sound good? Any other idea?

So essentially, no matter how you spell it, it's still the same name... Darn. I was hoping for a different name, to make it easier to tell the two apart. I guess I'm in the minority again... Oh well... At least we have another!!

Bamboo will now measure the garment so we can have a meaningful discussion about logos and stuff.

(BTW, don't worry about the bear next to Bamboo, that's Tomato's buddy.)

In fact, I was waiting for Darb to get back so I can shamelessly steal his signature and use it for the panda's jacket :smile:

JBougie has offered to try to embroider the jacket so maybe we should let her have a shot at it first (that's why I posted all the photos with the measurements, so she can give detailed information to her lady who does the embroidery).

Embroidery people usually like to work with a flat piece of fabric, so she may not be able to get anywhere with that little hoodie.

If that doesn't work, then maybe you TG could heat-print something?
I do'nt know the garment content, though, it's not written on it or anywhere on the wrapping. :rolleyes:

I would have done it myself but right now, between the panda, the shipping fees, the hoodie.. I've spent close to $25 already and I still haven't mailed out the panda to the next guy. The Avery templates cost around $17 + tax or so at the local office depot (yes, the cost of living is insane out here :sigh:)

If you guys are unable to do the logo, then I'll do it, but I might have to start collecting a few bucks, then, because I don't want to spend much more than $25 on the project.

Thoughts anyone?

It would work as is because the letters and the panda would stand out just fine.

If I had 15 dollars more to spend on the project, that's exactly what I would have done, put that box as is on the back of the hoodie.

but all i need is an additive for the ink to stick to non cotton. i could score some from the shop down the street if need be :)

the jacket should be able to fit on the head of an embroidery machine.
