I was hoping to get a new Yaris but I just can't afford to finance it. If the pre-purchase inspection goes well, I will be getting a 2007 Yaris 3dr Hatchback for $9200 ($1200 less than asking.) It's got auto windows/locks and only 18,000 miles. Original owner, and she says she was in a small fender-bender and she had to replace the rear bumper. A few scratches on the bumper remain but no engine damage. I will have to register the car as she let it expire, which is another $400. From the pictures it is very clean and it even has the 60/40 backseat, which I'm a fan of.
So guys, am I getting a good deal?

If the car gets checked by someone you trust, and the damage isn't significant, go for it. I got my 08 S Sedan for $10,500, which was a really good deal. It also had around 18K when I got it.
Seems like $9200 with the power pack is good.

Why should you have to pay the $400 because she let it expire?
That is different than how we transfer title and ownership here in Wisconsin.
I've seen some advertised that were less than that price for a 2007. However,
most of them had more than 36,000 miles. So, not too bad.
But like others have said, get it check by someone you can trust.

Yes the registration is a little more than I expected, but I guess it gets cheaper as the car ages. I am definitely going to get the car inspected before we buy it, at a AAA approved mechanic with good Google reviews. So far the seller has been great; emailing me back within the hour and answering all of my questions. She's moving to an area with great public transportation, otherwise she would not be getting rid of it.
