I just put a deposit down on a black 5dr LB auto. Has the power package with steel wheels and nothing else I believe. The dealer is holding it until they can take my "cash for clunkers" trade around the 23rd. As long as things go as planned I should have it before August.

I think he meant "clown car" in that it is a tiny car that fits a lot of people.

Oh, and BTW, I also failed to inform my wife that I put a deposit down on the Yaris. Still haven't told her...is that bad?

A friend of mine at church also has a Yaris sedan. His wife hates it, won't drive it, and calls it an "ugly clown car." I think she drives a big SUV of some sort. (They all look the same to me. Big ugly boxes.)

LMAO!! My wife calls my 5-door Yaris a "Clown Car" as well. She is going to HAVE to drive it on Saturday morning for the first time since we got it last month.

Yes, she too, has a massive SUV (a Ford Expedition).

I think the 3-doors are actually the clown cars.

A friend of mine who drives a MINI went out on the town a few years back with his wife for Halloween. They were both dressed as clowns. As they were getting in the car he says to her, "You do know what we are about to do, don't you?" Apparently the situation had not dawned on them 'tul that moment.

Well I like my "clown car". :burnrubber:

One of the reasons I got the 2 door yaris is because it is a small car with a lot of room inside.

To me, the gas guzzling SUVs etc, are the real clown cars as I find it quit amusing how their owners are constantantly feeding them.

So, let them laugh, the joke is on them.

I wish I had a pic, but I saw a NAPA vehicle with the little yellow hat on top. Pretty
sure it was a white Honda Fit. Now, that looked like a clown car. :bellyroll:

Just recently, I saw a white Yaris LB with a NAPA sign on the back, but
no yellow hat.

Of course, I can understand why they would put that on there.

It amazes me that the 5 door isn't any bigger than the 3 door because just looking at them you would think the 5 door is definitely a longer car. I've driven an SUV for so long that I cant wait to get into a little clown car!

i usually get nothing but props from ppl on my yaris but, some of my coworkers have jokingly referred to it as...

a super mario bullet (bullet bill!)

a rollerskate

darth vaders helmet

Maybe if you put a "Yes, It Has A Hemi" sticker on the back you'd get respect.

LOL:laughabove::thumbup::clap:Reminds me of that old joke about the Gremlin I used to drive. "Where is the other 1/2 of your car". My answer now is, "Sitting in my parking space". When they give me a funny look I say "I have 2 Yarises".

Update:

I went back to the dealer today to close out the deal. They took all my "Cash for Clunkers" documentation and filled out paperwork and such. Got zero APR for 60 months. Now the dealer is just waiting until Monday when they can register with the government program and they'll transfer plates and I can pick it up. Woo hoo!

Did you leave the clunker with them or are you still driving it until Monday?

I'm still driving it. Dealer has the title, and technically speaking I already own the new Yaris I guess, but there is a 7 day grace period on the title transfer so there's no problem with me still driving the old Exploder. At least that's what they told me.

Thanks. I'm doing the clunkers deal too but with the added wrinkle that I'll be out of town Sunday - Thursday. Maybe my dealer will do it the same way and I'll know the deal is a lock while I'm away.

Congrats on the car!

Not that it really matters, but I saw the local "clown car" again this past
week. It was not a Honda Fit, but a Chevy Aveo!!
I don't have a camera in the cellphone, but maybe I will get lucky and see
it when I do have my camera in the car.
