I picked up the new red S Sedan from upstate AL and the car was gorgeous! We drove the car home, making a few stops along the way. The next day my daughter asked me where the S (under the Yaris at the rear) was. I quickly looked at the paperwork to make sure I had bought the S sedan. I also noticed that the paint on the mirrors was a little dull indicating that the factory may not have put on enough clear coat.
I called the dealer and told them about the situation. They said that they hadn't heard of a missing S before and that they would try to remedy the situation. They also said that the mirrors had a new chip resistant paint on them and that it was normal.
Later, at a local dealership I had a chance to look at some Corollas, one yaris and several other Toyotas and they all seemed to have shiny clear coats on the mirrors. I can live with the mirrors as they are but I was wondering if the dealer was trying to give me a snow job. Has anyone had any similar experiences?

my mirrors are kinda more dull than the paint, i dunno about 'chip resistant paint' but it doesnt bother me much. if i had spent 30K on a car i would be pissed but eh oh well.
as for the missing 'S' just have them order you a new one, hell i took all my badges off

My "S" sedan came with no "S" emblem too. I returned and questioned the dealership. They told me that like the fog lights, the "S" badges/emblems only allotted to a certain region of the country (US). However, the salesman was nice enough to get me a free "S" emblem (red) that was supposed to go onto a Corrola S. I put it on my Yaris yesterday. It looks exactly like the OEM for the Yaris.
