-- thanks to Obama's cash for clunkers -- :D
i got the dealer for $13,500 -- they weren't gonna budge any more --
-- and then, at the end, said, "oh, too -- i have a 1987 land cruiser for trade" --
-- for that, i got $4500 "cash for clunkers" credit, plus $100 scrap credit --
-- i'm HAPPY -- this car drives and looks GREAT!!
i put the whole thing on 0% financing, and my payments are like $170 a month!!
pictures to come!!

hi all --
-- no power, no auto -- i didn't want them!
in fact, i would have passed on the car if it was an automatic.
the packages are --
convenience package (680)
all weather guard package (110)
floor mats (150)
center arm rest (129)
i know i could have bickered down another couple hundred bucks, but quite honestly, i couldn't find ANY other 3 door hatches in the vicinity -- they're either selling them out or not ordering them any more!
and too, i LOVEEEEE the silver!!

I agree with Revsson. Meteorite is the best color. My previous car ended up being on its last legs on a long trip in 2006. I thought this might happen before I left on the trip and planned to buy a Yaris along the way if it did. In Chicopee, MA (Western MA, near Springfield) I decided I had about 700 or so safe miles left on my car and stopped to begin my search. I searched the inventory (via the web and phone calls) of every Toyota dealer in MA,PA,NY,RI,CT,VT,NH,ME,DE,DC,MD,WV, and VA. I only found a total of 17 manual transmission hatchbacks in those 13 states, and only three of them had the equipment I wanted (the same equipment you have). Only one (near Boston) was Meteorite and I headed there. I arrived, and the rep said the car is still on the boat in the Atlantic and he didn't know when it would actually arrive. I asked why it was listed in inventory and he said "That's the way we do it". My #2 choice was a Bayou Blue one
(2007 model year) with the same equpment in RI. I headed there and made the purchase on October 7, 2006.....best car purchase ever. I have almost 136,000 miles on it and have been on many types of roads in 42 states...from Nashua, NH to Key West, FL to San Diego,CA to Vancouver, WA. I have only had 4 tanks where the MPG achieved for that tank was under 35 MPG, and I usually average about 40-41 MPG combined city/highway. I change the oil and air filter less often than I should. I have many, many miles of use remaining on the first replacement set of tires. I had to replace the front wheel bearings at about 111,000 miles (under 300.00), but at that time both the front and rear brake pads had over 80% remaining. I am still on the original battery (thank you cold weather package), spark plugs, clutch (with no adjustment), etc.....only the wheel bearings, tires, a few wheel covers, and the seat belt foam from the recall have been replaced....Oh, and the passenger side rear view mirror cover (someone stole it while I was parked in the Florida area of the Ninth Ward in New Orleans while I was volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. I find the layout of the car exemplary as well...so much so that I plan to buy a 2010 Meteorite hatch (at the latest date in 2010 that Toyota will still accept orders) and will only add Cruise Control and the split seats to the equipment you mentioned and that I have as well. I hope Toyota doesn't discontinue the Meteorite Metallic in 2010!

@ the OP: You can add these later that if you want. I added power lock and alarm after purchase, aftermarket parts.
you got an awesome price. I paid that much for my used Yaris!
btw, Manual tranny FTW!
PS. Silver was my first choice, but I got the tomato instead. No biggy, at least I can spot her right away in a parking lot. ;)

9222 with all the bells and whistles....auto, power windows, cd etc. etc..
after cash 4 clunker, rebate, and discount.
my clunker was a 95 silverado that i put 340 thosand miles on. the funny part is i tried to trade 4 a tundra 8 or 9 years ago and was offered 2 thousand with 120 K miles on my chevy. i told the dealer bs , took my chevy home put another 220 K on it and then brought it back to him and got 4500 for it 2 weeks ago. i guess good things come to those who wait
