The best way to pose this question would be to ask folks to tell you how much they paid in relation to invoice, because cars with different options will sell for different prices.
I paid invoice for my 2009 Yaris Sedan AT back on 4/13/09, and I got 0% financing for 60 months through Toyota.
(I actually paid $145 over invoice, but that included a lifetime unlimited mileage warranty on the drive train. They charged me $145 for the policy. Take away that policy, and I paid invoice for the car.)

I paid $20 over actual invoice for mine. Note that the invoice Toyota provided was $80 higher than the one we got on the Internet (I can't remember the site...my dad has it bookmarked for when he buys vehicles), so we actually paid $60 below what the Toyota invoice said, but $20 higher than what the actual invoice was according to that magic website.
EDIT: Note that mine is a 2009 4 door sedan and not the 5 door (I've never even seen one of those IRL)

MSRP on mine was $16,800. Not sure about invoice but I think it's around $15500.
Sedan, Auto, Power package, tint, fog lights, mats.
Threw in $4500 for CARS (1999 Ford Explorer Trade-in value $650).
Told the dealer I'd pay $11,500 OTD (tags, fees, everything). They balked at first (they offered $13,800), I told them that was my only offer and they went for it.
Final bill:
Car 10060
Dealer Fees 600
Tax 690
Title and Tags 150
$11,500 OTD

I'd like to think so... Gave up my POS Explorer to sweeten the deal. I've already put more miles on the Yaris I've had for 2 weeks than I did on that SUV in the last 4 years.

2009 Yaris 3dr 5spd manual. Meterorite Metallic
includes: Power package, fog lights, remote keyless and lifetime protection package
MSRP 15,783-
CARS 4,500-
Rebate 750-
Told the salesman we needed his lowest price as we had already been through a week of hell with Nissan. (a whole other nasty, sordid story) My wife was still stressed out over it and told the salesman not to push, we had just walked away from Nissan. He sold us this car for $10,000 flat, including tax, tag and title. We think we got a "smoking" deal! And we think we will be much happier with the Yaris than we would have been with the Versa!

Sweet! We looked at the Versa too, but though the dealer had at least 30 of them they were all the same and not what we wanted. Next stop was Toyota.
Just bought mine last week for 17,100 minus the 4500 for cars.

I've always gotten the best deal when I've walked into the dealership with my financing already approved. I have a credit union so when they offer me to use their financing, I ask if they can beat the terms I already have and the answer is usually no. Excluding the gimmicky 0% deals of course... Telling them that you will cut them a check right then and there for x price put's the pressure on them to come through on the deal.

Yep that's the way to go. I actually took the loan from my parents lol (nice low interest rate :D) so we just wrote a check when I got mine.
EDIT: The dealer said that they prefer someone to finance of course, because it's more money for them I suppose, but it's a lot easier to get a good deal when you show that you have the money already.

Price was $16,375 (MSRP) but I got it with the CARS program so it knocked off 4500 and with tax it was about 13,300. Add a extended warranty (7 years 100,000 miles) and your talking 15,000

waaaaay to much. i still owed a lot of money on mits. lancer that i traded in for the yaris and so..they had to add that extra amount which was about $3000 to the yaris loan.i figured if i wasnt planning to keep the lancer i better get rid of it now and not years later when i will get nada for it on a trade in. plus the lancer didnt make me happy and every single time i seen a yaris LB i wanted to steal it.

LOL Bob Dog! To tell you the truth, we couldn't believe it either! We just happened to cruise in the night after Nissan screwed us. We honestly didn't think we could even touch a Toyota for the price but just wanted to see what they had. Salesman came up and wife literally took 3 steps back from him and said she didn't want to talk to any salesman for at least 24 hours, we were just looking. I told him we had a check in hand from our credit union for a certain amount and no car, thanks to Nissan shyster dealer who waited until our credit union sent the check to go back on his word. The Toyota man just about begged us to let him try. After a test drive and a sworn promise to my wife of "no games or you can just leave and I won't bother you any further." He went went through figures and came back with that smokin' deal we couldn't refuse. Yep, I hope he's still employed but I wonder too! And believe me, I don't usually have any luck at all trying to score a good deal.

What year Lancer did you trade in? I felt the same way about my '06 I had bought used just last year (day before Easter). With how many miles I drive (about 26,000 a year), the Lancer was killin me on fuel costs (25-26 mpg avg) and insurance ($584/6 mo). Thankfully my local dealer was able to give me enough for a trade in that I actually had about $500 go towards the Yaris. :w00t: The kicker, I get about 36-37mpg on avg with the Yaris, and the insurance is $455/6 months.
I am more and more amazed/in love with my Yaris every day!:wub:

2006... but i had just gotten the lancer and only paid like 3 payments when i traded it in. i still owed like 8,500 and i didnt get enough to cover that from toyota on the trade in.yeah, thats another reason to. i felt like i had to fill the thing up every day lol. my insurance actually went up like 10 bucks a month but then again im young and the yaris is brand new too. my car loan ended up being like 20,000 after they added the negative from the lancer and warranty and tax and all that fun stuff. but u know what? that extra 3000 added onto yaris loan will be worth it considering i wasnt happy with lancer and the gas $ ill be saving.

Have the prices of the Yaris gone WAY up?? I paid $15,3xx (maybe a couple hundred more, I can't remember the exact, but I am pretty sure it was $15,3xx) for my FULLY loaded 07 sedan and that was the most expensive one they had at the the time (non-s type) and you guys are talking about $17k+ ?!? I love the Yaris, but there is no way I am going to pay almost $20k for one ....

Where I live (Israel) we have and additional 83% tax over the new cars we buy.this issue frustrated most of the israelis since in our country buying a new car is considered a huge expense not everyone can afford.
for example:
if a yaris costs 13,000 dollars,that's worth 52,000 shekels (1 $=4 shekel approximately).
for the 2009 toyota I paid 100,000 shekels (that's 25,000 $) because of the additional fee.:eyebulge:

I leased my 2009 Yaris 5 door (base, not the S). Gave the dealer an old Buick with 120k miles as down payment - no cash down and got it for $157/month for 36 months (12k miles per year).
I have the power package and the 15" tires. 8 air bags. Cruise and remote entry. Floor mats, too.
I am going to buy it out at the end of the lease because it will be $8500 - too good of a deal to pass by...
My mom just got a 2010 today, hope she didn't pay too much.
2010 yaris sedan, automatic, power package, floor mats
$17,564 OTD, tax and all fees included. 0% for 60 months
