I am going to post my daily experience with choosing and purching a Yaris to contribute to its fans. I will try to update my post everyday until I get the car from dealer and have a review. The following is my first post for the dairy:)

Well, I am a freshman in college and I got $15000 budget from my parents to buy a brand new car.

After searching for a lots of information online, I finally decided to get a Yaris Sedan because it looks awesome and it is incredibily economy. My previous car was a 96 Jetta which was impressive!

Okay, get back to our topic. Since i made decision, I called several Toyota dealers in Utah and they all told me that they don't have any Yaris to dive and sell. I need to put deposit and wait 3 months to get my car. it sucks, because I have planned to have a 5000-mile trip on December with my new Yaris. In that case, I have to cancel my trip anyway.

Today, I have contacted a dealer in Salt lake city which my collegue's car was bought there. The seller told me they can order one for me, but I need to wait 2-3 months as well. I said Okay, I will come in when I find a ride to Salt Lake City on this or next weekend.

Thoes are not mandatory item. Mine doesn't have either, and I have the dealer throw me the new carpet for free.

i was told by the dealer i bought from, and also by another dealer i almost bought from (but didn't like them so i left!) that the carpeting comes with the car from the factory. the $150 includes 4 floor mats and also a full trunk mat, so its actually not a bad deal - although i'd rather have some rubber mats in the front anyways so i was kind of annoyed. the bumper protector was not included however.

yah, I was hoping to get the bumper protector included... oh well. I'll live without if for a while and maybe just get one off ebay or somethin..

I just noticed that ABS is not standard feature for Sedan, only power package has it. It really makes me upset. I wonder if it will be safe if you drive a none-ABS car on snow??

I am still waiting for the reply from dealer about the removal of carpet and bumper protector.

i'd prefer all weather rubber mats with deep grooves than factory carpet. They catch more dirt and are easily cleaned compared to carpet. Plus they're more functional during winter and rainy season. Walmart sells them for like 7$ a piece. 24$ for a set of 4.

For the safety reason, I decided to add ABS with EBD for my Yaris and Toyota told me the MSRP is $300.

Man, cant fucking believe yall still have to wait 2-3 months to test a Yaris, let alone BUY one! MY GOD!

We have sooooooooo many at every dealership up here it would make you sick!

I guess bc of the Echo's poor poor sales in the US, they just didnt expect it to do as well as it does... and consequentially they're behind the game and out of stock! :frown:

Thats so unfortunate for yall. I dont know if I would have gotten my Yaris if I'd had ot wait that long.

I tested one the day I decided I may wanna get it, thought on it for a week or more, then confirmed I wanted it, and was told to come back in 4 days to pick her up!

I guess I was lucky? Got mine 3 hours after I paid for it, with alarm installed, washed, gas'd up, and plates installed. Guess I just got the perfect one!
