Alright guys, I have decided to quit playin around and go on a remove my back seat. However, I need to throw an idea at you guys and get some feedback. Here is my crappy paint representation of what i'm trying to go for
27950

My goal is to cover a piece of plywood with some speaker box cloth I have lying around. I plan is to use a piece of angle iron attached to where the black mini frame is bolted to the car. Then bolt the board to the angle iron. I plan to custom cut the board to fit the nooks and crannies of the wall of the car. I dont plan to make it any taller than the bottom of the window.

So, what does everyone think? Does this sound doable? Any additions or changes? thanks for any comments

Damn, if yours was an 08, I would take that backseat off your hands if it was a split-folding one...but my car has the polka dots...

Cheers! M2

why would you want a big wall instead of seats or empty cargo space?

just wondering...

To stop my subs from moving around, and because I'm not a big fan of the big open space thing lol.

personally, I would make a flat bed, bolt the speakers down to it (with wing nuts or something so you could get to the spare or haul something long) Someone else on here did a flat bed, but I can't find it...

Here is your story:

You added the first sub then you wanted more bass so you add the same box instead of designing a wider box for the 2 woofers. In this forum there are great ideas that involve 2 subs without removing the back seat.

I think the plan is to remove the back seat no matter what.

No, I chose both of those boxes to fill a set amount of airspace while trying maximize the acoustics of the car according to the way I listen to music. The subs already fit fine.

Your right LRR, the seats are gone no matter what I replace them with.

My OP was too see if someone had a better version of what I am trying to accomplish.

I would think that you would be better sound if you laid the plywood flat. If you install the plywood vertical, you would need to cover the back of the plywood with sound absorbing materal. Otherwise you risk the sound waves bouncing off the vertical plywood and mudding your base.

oooh, good point. Maybe i could cut spherical holes in the wood. Like little mini-ports lol. Oh, I plan on keeping the rear factory deck. If that helps anyone lol.

You found 10" subs that push 1800 rms each?
You must have craziest HO alt. ever to fuel that... what kind of prep work did you have to do? -- deadening or big 3?

EDIT: I thought you were going to make the wall an enclosure and upgrade your system. If it were me, i'd just bolt down the boxes to prevent them from moving and call it a day xD.
I'm not sure if anyone's going to have a better idea here tbh. The majority of us love passengers :]

? Are you talking about my garage? If so, its 900 rms each speaker, 1800 max watts each speaker lol. And no, the Yaris wont push them and live for long.

Lol, like that makes a difference xD. Can you still hear your music?
My system only pushes 1600rms tops.. and thats with 300x2 uber headroom on speakers.

1600 rms? are you positive about that? I'm not calling you a liar. But i know that I need at the minium the big 3 to be even get close to pushing the two 10's. Even then, I need a H/O alt to keep my car from blowing up XD lol. You sure it not 1600 peak?

Better yet, lets take it to a Private Message so we dont clutter this thread :)
