Im also guessing, with or without these last few, someone will be honoring the already paid members with the headers at this price, let it be Megan direct, or Rice.

Alright, I've got some great news!!!

Megan is going to honor the lower pricing eventhough we only managed to put together 14 buyers. The final payment will be $190 USD via PayPal or $210 CAD via Email Money Transfer. Please send to albert.wong@sympatico.ca as soon as possible. I will need to get your contact name, full address, and telephone number for shipping purposes. I've been advised that the shipment has been delayed by about 2 weeks, so we can expect the headers to arrive a couple weeks later than the initial promise date of the 1st or 2nd week of December. If you have any questions, please PM me.

THANKS TO ALL THE PARTICIPANTS OF ANOTHER GREAT GB!!!

I'm going to send them another email to see if they'll continue to honor the pricing, but I'll let them know that I've received payments from 80% of the participants. The shipment has been delayed about 2 weeks so that would put the new promise date to about 3rd or 4th week of December, anyways.. just waiting on two more payments and then we'll be a go... Obylium is out of the GB he no longer has a Yaris...

From my end the updates are:

1. Still waiting for final confirmation from MR that numbers stay the same w/ 12 confirmed buyers instead of the 14 claimed buyers at the end of the GB.

2. One payment still needs to clear bc it was made by echeque so I'm just waiting on it before I transfer the funds to MR.

I don't think we're going to have any problems, at least I've got my fingers and toes crossed.. anyhow I'll keep everyone updated as to what's happening!!

If you have any questions/concerns feel free to PM or shoot me an email....

I'd also wait until they can give you a solid shipping confirmation, and that they can actually fill a 14 piece order, before sending them our money.

I know you got it handled Rice, just offering up some advice.

Order is going to be filled no problem, the parts are ready to ship once I transfer funds over to them. Pricing will remain as quoted *** Big thanks to MR***. My contact just wanted to remind everybody that if there are any problems that they simply need to contact them and they'll replace the piece at no cost with no problems. Testing has been done but since these are first run pieces we have to keep in mind that problems might occur. In any case MR has assured me that there shouldn't be any problems.

Anyhow it's waiting time now.. once all payments are cleared the pieces will be sent out!

Wait, so they're in the mail this week pretty much? How long does shipping take?

These could be here sooner than we thought.California to Ohio should be about 5 business days if they ship via UPS. I know that when I ship things from my warehouse to California, it takes about a week to get there depending on if UPS messes up or not.

Nice... I'm trying to squeeze the dyno run in before the holidays.

We should have before and after dyno results for this product. I know we will have afters for sure, but I worked something out with another company today that seemed excited to help out with Megan's new header R&D!

ChinoCharles
12-01-2006, 03:30 PM
I think what he is saying is that that would be the allure... we are saving 30 or 40 bucks on the price of the piece including shipping and we are getting them a couple months before they will be available to the public. If that is the case, we did A-OK.

Listen to Chris on this one and reserve your frustration until Riceboy pops on and lets us know what is up.

Ran Kizama
12-01-2006, 03:41 PM
I don't care either way. $190 for a header shipped is a good deal no matter how you cut it. Did we save 40% off the header? No, but it's still not bad considering that shipping on a heavy piece like this would probably be around $30.

Thanks again for the GB. Can't wait to get it in.

Exactly, that's the way I see it. So I still think we got a decent deal.

Alright guys I'm just getting a chance to read this and wanted to clear up the picture. I just got off the phone with my contact at Megan Racing and was assured that what's being offered by the board sponsor is not happening. The header doesn't have a set MSRP to date and is not available on their website. Chino Charles has already taken advantage of their offer to receive a discount for Dyno Testing.

I've been advised that we are getting the initial shipment and that if there are any problems that we will be getting replacements through their no hassle warranty as promised in previous posts made throughout the thread.

For the time being I hope that everyone is patient and remains calm over the situation. At this time money has been transferred and headers should be shipped by Monday. If you still have any questions or concerns feel free to PM or email me.

Okay, good. I was really confused when I saw that post. I thought I smelled some :bs:... apparently I was correct, and it wasn't Riceboy. :respekt:

Riceboy, tell Megan to be weary of the holidays if they are dying for those dyno numbers. I can either dyno them in the first half of December or first half of January, but speed shops go to sleep for the holidays.

Do you know which shipping company they are using?? WRLEO sent my intake this tuesday, UPS showed up at my door today (friday)!! Too bad i wasnt home and my grandma thought the brokerage fee was $465.70, instead of the actual $46.57.. damn... if she only spoke english and/or took a better god damn look at the InfoNotice!!!

riceboy
12-01-2006, 11:59 PM
Not sure who they'll be using for shipping,.. but I think they'll be declaring a lower value for Canadian buyers so that we get spared on some of the duties and brokerage fees, etc.

Hey guys.... This is James the board sponsor in question with the Megan Header... I have spoke to Calvin first thing this morning about this header. The BIGGEST problem was I had the wrong MSRP price. Other then that guys I am not selling the header nor do I have access at this time to sell the header. I have a real shop where we install items and dyno tune cars. We spokre to Calvin about doing his header install for a tech write up and also Dyno Testing. He did mention he already had a car doing the Dyno testing, I just offered another car to get multiple results to show the great numbers his headers should produce.

Calvin nor ricerboy and this group buy is ripping anyone off nor is anyone being mislead. The only misleading thing was my incorrect MSRP price I had posted. That is completely my mistake and appologize for that but please bare in mind, we are NOT selling headers... Just doing testing at this time.

Thanks

I'm kind of worried about installing just the header now. My buddy just put his header on his Sentra SE-R Spec V with stock exhaust, and it blew his stock exhaust out. So now it sounds like bees chasing a chainsaw. I surely hope this doesn't happen to our Yari (Ha ha! Plural form of Yaris!).

Damn.. guess those tracking numbers are gonna be useless for some of us.... I'm still waiting to hear back from MR.. but I guess they've already sent the headers out.... hope the installs go well....

Ran - How did the stock exhaust get blown out by the header??My guess is that it blew the baffles of the stock muffler. Not sure, but the car sounds horrible. We're trying to source him an exhaust now.

My only guess would be that the new header/headers burned the baffles,or ruined the cat. which in turn burned the baffles.

I've gotten more reports of it restraining the heat to such an extent that it actually cracks the header then I'd care to remember. Mine's done! No hang-ups at all! All the parts went on great! Also...

NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT! NO RASPY SOUND!

The car sounds relatively normal, just a little louder inside.

The hardest part of the install was the removal of the stock header. Putting on the Megan takes about 15 mins. Good stuff! Here are some notes I'd like to mention...

1. All the stock bolts and nuts that hold the header to the engine are reused.
2. I had to hammer on the new donut with a rubber mallet. Easy.
3. The three studs, bolts, and washers are for connecting the header to the exhaust pipe and to the little bracket right there.

The car doesn't seem to have lost anything down low, but the top end is a lot more spirited. A quick dash onto the interstate brought this to truth.

Thanks for an excellent group buy! Good luck to all those still waiting to install!

I disagree, i think we should have the 2 dyno runs, and compare them, as i feel we will get two different results, because the owner of the car (chino in this case )is going to brag a bit ( nobody wants to admit they got shit gains) , and add a few ponies, were the owner of the speedshop will tell it like it is...

Add me to the list, I got mine today, paid $24.00 brokerage fees to UPS, probably won't install till spring, no need for extra HP in the winter up here in Canada!!!

Haha! Trust me dude, I'm more committed to adding HONEST information to our knowledge base than I am to bragging about how "trick" my Yaris is. No matter where I do it, you guys are going to get the straight answer. The sheet doesn't lie!

To be quite honest, my expectations are SUPER conservative. I'm predicting 4 WHP, and I wouldn't be totally shocked to see no noticable gain at all with the header alone.

But God, I hope I'm way wrong.

Chris, sounds like fun! Lets see what RCF says first.

It's official! The GB is done and completed, thanks to all the participants for making this a success!!

Chino - As far as I know Megan is still expecting results from your end as per the added discount they've provided you. They've done their own dyno testing but it's my guess that they're trying to get numbers from other sources with stock to modified cars. Please just take it in, honor your commitment and leave it at that.

The gains are going to be varied, but I think we can all agree that there'll be something. I'm not expecting too much even with my intake and exhaust, but if it opens up the car.. I'll be very happy!

In any case, hope everybody enjoys their headers!!! I've got the day off and will try to get them installed tomorrow.

Albert

anyone run these uncapped yet? I was thinking of removing my muffler portion so 1. see how it sounds, and 2. see if there is actually any preformance gain/loss

Megan must be pimping the design out.

Chris07LB
12-30-2006, 01:04 PM
You didnt think Megan was actually making them themselves do you?

ChinoCharles
12-30-2006, 01:08 PM
No, but I would assume they have the rights to the design of the piece, no? A lot of times these companies design a piece like this and then they'll wholesale out a few hundred of them to companies like the one on Ebay. That is what I am assuming happened there, but I could be wrong.

Ok off of the header is 2 inch up to the resinator, so I am going off the resinator with 2 inch up to this muffler http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&viewitem=&item=300067071317
what do ya'll think?

Besides it not going to fit under your car, its going to have to hang way down, id just spend the money on the TRD, Tanabe, Magnaflow, etc., thats actually made to just bolt in and go for our cars.
