My 95' Eclipse finally hit the end of the road so I've been car shopping for the last week or so while I weigh my options.
Finally decided to pick up a used 2008 Yaris Sedan with 36K miles on it fresh in on trade. :w00t:
For owning the car only a week I must say that my daily commute is enjoyable. I can't wait to see what kind of MPG I get vs. my Eclipse (may it R.I.P)
I'll try to get a picture or 2 up later. I'm not a huge fan of the "green" color it came with, but the price fits!

Welcome to Yaris World!!

I'm in the Milwaukee Area.
Here is a quick picture I snapped last week while the car was on the lot. I was happy to get a used car with the full power package in it for that price.
I'm not thrilled with the color, and I really wanted a flint mica.... but the price fit.
Car was previously in California too, so no rust or snow yet....... "yet"
More pictures to come =)
**edit**
Car is totaled =( see my reply further down

I like that color too!! I think it's pretty and makes the Yaris look bigger than it is ... that might just be me though lol

It's alright, the Flint Mica has slightly better mileage while the Gold one is faster.
Congrats!

Well it was fun while it lasted. =(
Had the car under 2 weeks and yesterday a Ford explorer decided not to stop at red light. He ran into the back of me and my car is now more than likely totaled (back end is totally f'ed up)
Thank goodness for gap insurance! :help:
Needless to say I'm car shopping again... and my premiums are going up thanks to some numskull.
/sigh

Whaaa?? Your premiums shouldn't go up when some ahole hits you!!
Good job with the GAP - I never understood why anyone who buys a brand new vehicle wouldn't pay the extra few dollars for it when something exactly like what happened to you could occur at any time.
Are you going to be getting another Yaris??
I am so sorry about your car :(
Are you OK? That's the most important part!

I'm ok, just a bit jittery as can be expected. If you've ever been in even a minor accident you know how afterwords you can almost have PTSD :frown:
The insurance company will be cutting me a check by the end of the week, so I'm in the process of looking again. **edit** and yea gap insurance is a total MUST for any car newer than 5 years in my book. The insurance company only covered 90% so where does that extra money come from? yea exactly my pocket book... that is if I didn't have the gap.
I'm looking for another 4 door sedan (perhaps an S type this time around).
I got the opportunity to kick the tires on a White 08 Yaris S type (I think that is what you call them, not sure). It was fully loaded with all the options on the interior (cruise / premium console / ipod connectivity / etc.).
This one looks better in my opinion as well, so here is hoping right? :eyebulge:
I'll keep everyone posted, but yea I'm doing ok. Just a bit shook up is all... that and I wanted to give the owner of that POS 90's explorer more than a piece of my mind if you catch my drift....

You should totally get it, because I have one just like it (:

IMO, if you're planning on keeping/modding the Yaris - get it as loaded as you can. It's so worth it. I wish like hell now that I would have gotten the S type, but I got one of the first Yaris' out of the MN shipments so I didn't have a whole lot of choice unless I wanted to wait (I have an 07) and I kick myself for not holding out for that S. Mine is fully loaded otherwise, and I am absolutely thankful I at least did that!
I hope you find one soon, post pics when you get it :) :)

I learned my lesson from my 2008 Cobalt purchase. The car was on the lot and was the only Cobalt that the dealer had at the time. It was stripped down, except that it had an automatic transmission. No power windows or locks, no cruise control, and no remote keyless entry.
I missed all those features much more than I thought I would, and I made SURE to get them on my Yaris. I am very glad that I did.
Tom
I feel the exact opposite. I've owned fully loaded cars. Leather, power everything, auto, moonroof, fancy audio, etc. My yaris has none of that. The only options I had was the upgraded audio(gag) and the armrest, because it came with the car. i didn't pay for the armrest, and I don't miss any of the luxury items, not to mention the terrible gas mileage.

Well I decided to try again with car #2.
Pulled the trigger on that polar white 4 door with all the trimmings (power / abs / cruise / etc.) I ended up having to pay a bit more money for the car due to msrp (bout 1k higher). But 32k miles with full power for 11.5 isn't bad at all.
Below are some screen shots of the car that I took today.

Congrats on the new car. Hope this white one sticks around. From the looks of it, it is identical to mine  :

If you have cruise control, you have the exact same model as I have :) I don't have the fogs either. I'm so glad you decided to go back with the Yaris :) Yay!!! I am glad that you found another one so quick!!!

Congrats on the new car (again!)!
I usually don't like white cars, but the Yaris looks good in white. I even considered that color for my LB.
Neighborhood in your pix looks really familiar - Whitefish Bay?
