View Full Version : Hello all, new owner w question about loud engine

We got the car used and everything seems fine except the engine seems a little noisy, even at low speed acceleration, is this normal for the yaris?
the car was actually for my mom so i haven't driven it much but it drives normal, start and idle are fine.

the car has about 24k miles on it. I am actually hoping to take it on a 600 mile trip so i hope all is fine.

the engine just seems a little noisy to me for being a new car, don't know how else to explain it.

so, which is it, a new car or a used car?

if you can't describe the type of noise, i'll give you the standard answer.

At idle I can't even hear it running from inside the car, and I don't notice much engine noise till about 70mph. I'd find another yaris and take a test drive to confirm there is a problem or if what you hear is normal. Otherwise, if still under warranty have the dealer check it before you take it on a trip to see if what you hear is a problem or not.
